The wrath of God

So killing people is not murder...?... If thats what you have been indoctrinated to believe then who am i to brainwash you?

Correct, he doesnt force them to change, he just murders them for love.

Have you actually understood what you are writing?.
I understand, but you don't seem to. Life from God's perspective is not this temporal life, but eternal life and that is God's goal. Again, God does not murder. God Judges SIN.

Thanks.

I've no idea why a god would want to do such a thing, but I note that for an omnipotent omniscient perfect being [he's] sure going about it in a weirdly inefficient and ineffectual way.
It may look inefficient from the finite human perspective, but I would think if God is omniscient, omnipotent, and perfect Being then the way He's going about it would make perfect sense from His perspective.

so anyone who ends up there has refused God's love so much so they are to the point of being as evil as the demons.

So all the good works a person does, lives a clean and moral life, but doesn’t believe in your God is as evil as the demons and is worthy of eternal damnation?

Wow.. What church do you belong to?? I have never quite believed that God ordered the Hebrews to kill all the men, women, children and livestock of non-Jews living in the Levant.

All I can say is that I believe the God I trust as the Creator of heaven and earth, who desires a loving relationship with each person, knows everyone's heart and motives and will judge accurately and fairly. No one who ends up in eternal damnation will think He made a mistake, as all things will be revealed and transparent for what they are at that point.

If the Biblical god exists and is like the Biblical depiction of it, humans should be looking for ways to exterminate the evil entity.

Based on the old testament massacres? Do you think that was God-inspired scripture or Hebrew nationalism?

Sort of like "Even if one commits the most abominable action, if he is engaged in devotional service [to God] he is to be considered saintly because he is properly situated in his determination [to please God]."

I'm not so sure any of those Old Testament slaughter stories involved God, are you?

You'd have to ask the Egyptian first-born. And the men, women and children of Jericho. And the citizens of Sodom and Gomorrah.

Oh wait, you can't... God killed them!

Noah's flood, the killing of the firstborn.

As sure as the bible

There's no evidence for the flood or Exodus or for the death of the Egyptian 1st born. There's no evidence that Joshua destroyed any Canaanite cities. There's no evidence that Herod killed all the baby boys.

Maybe they made it all up to make themselves powerful and important?

OLD TESTAMENT MASS KILLINGS

Old Testament Mass Killings

Can God Commit Genocide?

Wrong. Let’s consider what makes murder wrong in the first place. Murder is wrong because humans have inherent worth and value, and because nobody is in moral authority over another person. I don’t have the right to kill someone because I do not have the authority to judge or determine whether somebody else deserves to die. This is precisely why there is debate over whether the death penalty is murder. Do those in charge of our legal system have the moral authority to decide whether someone deserves to live? I don’t know, but I do know that if God exists, He does. God does have the moral authority to determine whether I deserve to live or die because God created me and thus what is morally right or wrong, what is true and what is just in my reality depend on who He is. God is not capable of murder because He is the only one justified in taking a human life.

Imagine that I lent you my iPod (if I could find it). I asked you to take good care of it and to use it to listen to great music. Two weeks later, I check in with you about how my iPod is doing, and to my horror, I discover that you’ve been using it as a chew toy for your dog! I am not impressed. I lent you my iPod trusting that you would look after it and use it for good, but instead you abused my gift! Do I have the right to take back my iPod? Of course I do. You’ve abused it.

If God created and gave us the gift of life, which ultimately is His property, not ours, and He entrusts us with it to use for good and not for evil, does He not also have the right to reclaim that life when it is abused? Of course He does. In this case, God simply chose to use Israel to carry out His moral judgment on evil and rebellious people. Let’s remember that these people were sacrificing their own children to their gods. Doesn’t that make you angry? Let’s remember that sexually transmitted diseases have been linked to these ancient cultures. They were far from innocent. If the killing of these people was initiated by Israel, then absolutely, it is genocide. If God simply reclaimed the lives of those who abused His gift, then it is not. As the only one possessing the moral authority to take a human life, God cannot commit genocide. It’s impossible.

Whether it's historical fact or it's fiction, the point is that people believe God did it. This is the God people believe in and give their lives to.

Yes, so your god would get, and deserve execution for murder
