Science is a false God

Again, I claimed neither of those. I said a false god. And even that of course is not from me. It is an idea which I in its fundamentality can perhaps approve of.
Science is not a false god either.

It is the claim of the OP and the one I am answering.

Science is not a religion. Science is not a god. Science is not a false god.

Then present your evidence. All you've provided is your say so which is not persuasive in the slightest . . .

Archaeology?

Jerusalem was a small hilltop village in bandit territory on the trade route between Egypt and Babylon.. It was a hardscrabble life.. but, they were good story tellers . That's why you have all these epic stories of daring-do about Joshua, David... and fictions about Solomon's wealth and power.

You should go to Israel and see for yourself.

Jerusalem had 60 dunams [15 acres] in David’s time. That was the area of the Canaanite city. But when David added the Temple Mount and all the adjacent area, we jump to 150 dunams [37 acres] in the tenth century.

Morals are subjective, not objective. If morals were objective, every culture and country would have the same morals.

Tell what are the objective morals you talk about.

With each interaction I grow more and more concerned. Are you really unable to tell the difference between good and evil?

Why should God tolerate the evil?

So, again, are you claiming that the indiscriminate slaughter of men, women, children, infants, and animals can be morally justified or not?

We've just covered one example - do pay attention - love your enemies vers. indiscriminately slaughter them.

What a curious thing to claim . . .

It's not curious at all. These kind of fatuous arguments for god and their refutations are two a penny. The one you cited was sillier, and more obviously wrong, than most.

Are you truly incapable of distinguishing between good and evil?
Omnipotent God creates Adm and Eve exactly in the way he wants to.
Adam & Eve disobey God - exactly as Omniscient God knew they would.
Deceitful God blames Adam & Eve and punishes them.
Later psychopathic God decides his whole creation is messed up. In a pique, he horrifically kills every man, woman, child, fetus, and embryo.

You worship this God. I would not worship this god because I am too moral to worship something so evil and because I am capable of distinguishing between good and evil.

God does not tolerate evil so, sooner or later, all who are evil will answer to him. That's what I'm saying.

Interesting the direction this thread has taken from the OP 'science is a false god'.

Are you saying it would be moral to have killed the people on this list as babies? That is what it seems you are saying.

The Almighty will not put up with evil meaning that, ultimately, all that are evil will answer to him. That is what I'm saying.

Like what? You had just said there isn't such evidence!

Consciousness, memory, planning, dreaming and other aspects of the human experience most certainly do transcend our physical self. After all, what explicit sections of our brain are directly responsible for these extraordinary abilities?

I scored 24%. Does that help you to understand me better?

Do you think that atheism and ASD are related? Why?

Contemporary research shows that individuals with ASD have cognitive processing styles which hamper human spirituality while the Neurotypical have all inherited a variety of biological predispositions for spirituality, hence my query: Disqus - Square Pegs, Round Holes

Your results do help me understand your staunch Atheism, yes. Thank you for sharing them :)

Who? If you mean me, no. This repeated suggestion that those you debate with have ASD instead of answering the points they raise, do you regard it as moral? Would your god be proud of you?

You misunderstand. Contemporary research shows that individuals with ASD have cognitive processing styles which hamper human spirituality while the Neurotypical have all inherited a variety of biological predispositions for spirituality, hence my query. Disqus - Square Pegs, Round Holes

You posted this several times and I have been trying to make sense of it.

It seems from the logic you are following, you could add
(7) Therefore, God is evil.
(8) Therefor, God is also the locus of all objective evil.

I do not agree with that, but I do not see how you can conclude otherwise based on the logic you followed in constructing your statements.

How does 7 follow from the preceding premisses?
