Jesus was Narrow Minded

Jesus didn't approve of modern thinking about religion.
He told the Lebanese woman he came for the Jewish people, not dogs.
He didn't just rail against adultery, he went further and said that if you
even LOOK at a woman in lust you are committing adultery.
He didn't approve of divorce.
All that this religious nation did for God wasn't enough
He told someone not to attend a funeral but let the dead bury their dead.
He said the Romans would lay siege to Jerusalem and kill even their children
He said his nation was condemned to slavery, death, exile or hell.
He said he would throw a woman into a bed of adultery, and kill her children
He refused to answer many questions
He said he was better than anyone else, either living then or in the Old Testament

I could go on and on and on.
If you quote a dictionary I believe the definition of omnipotence is beyond boundaries. As asked, I will follow

OK, I'll accept personal experience as a rationale for personal belief, but not as empirical evidence intended for anyone else, and the scriptures indicating narrow-mindedness are also not authoritative -- for some of the same reasons.
Yet the scriptures record so little.

How can anyone come to this conclusion based on almost nothing?

Haven't people have always constructed complex belief systems and religions based on nothing?

I recall a legend of a Christian potentate ruling a kingdom surrounded by heathens, a descendant of one of the magi of the nativity, that once enjoyed wide currency.

With regard to this comments that his ministry was too narrow, aside from Egypt, Jesus spent most of his adult life during ministry covering a 50 mile area. But he definitely covered it, and this area included no only Israel but Samaria and Syria as well as the Decapolis and Perea. He reacged out to not only Jews but outsiders. He was a Jew tho. His disciples eventually left behind even that, especially Peter.

I wouldn't say that. As much as any other person in 4 BCE Israel, he would have been exposed to merchants, traders, mercenaries, Roman soldiers. His home range was at the crossroads of 3 continents: Europe, Asia and Africa. He was learned enough to read from the Torah in the synagogue when most people couldn't read at all.

His stated and recorded mission was to call the Children of Israel, the"lost sheep" back to their relationship with God. His conflict was actually with the Jewish leadership. They saw him as someone who might bring the wrath of Rome down on Israel ("Better one man should die than the whole nation perish" - Caiaphas, the high priest). When questioned about paying taxes to Rome, he said the "give to Caesar what is Caesar's, but give to God what is God's"... i.e. pay your taxes but perform your worship.

You should actually read this. There are a ton of veiled nuances in this whole exchange, and while on the surface it sounds just like obeying Caesar, it actually condemns both Caesar and the priests.

Are you claiming that that legend is valid?

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
It's actually amazing the amount of detail people come up with based on a few vague lines and passages.

It's a testament to the evolution of the imagination.

Agreed. What now?

Really? Can you take a moment and prove what’s so narrow-minded about these?

"For “whoever would love life and see good days must guard his tongue from bad and his lips from speaking deception. Let him turn away from what is bad and do what is good; let him seek peace and pursue it." -1 Peter 3:11

“But now you must put them all away from you: wrath, anger, badness, abusive speech, and obscene talk out of your mouth. Do not lie to one another. Accordingly, as God’s chosen ones, holy and loved, clothe yourselves with the tender affections of compassion, kindness, humility, mildness, and patience. Continue putting up with one another and forgiving one another freely even if anyone has a cause for complaint against another. Just as Jehovah freely forgave you, you must also do the same. But besides all these things, clothe yourselves with love, for it is a perfect bond of union.” - Colossians 3:8,9, 12-14.

“Never be anxious about the next day, for the next day will have its own anxieties. Each day has enough of its own troubles.” -Matthew 6:34

““You heard that it was said: ‘You must love your neighbor and hate your enemy. However, I say to you: Continue to love your enemies and to pray for those who persecute you, so that you may prove yourselves sons of your Father who is in the heavens, since he makes his sun rise on both the wicked and the good and makes it rain on both the righteous and the unrighteous. For if you love those loving you, what reward do you have?" (Matthew 5:43-46)

“Even a child is known by his actions, whether his behavior is pure and right.” -Proverbs 20:11

The Light of the world, the Savior, the Alpha and Omega, the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, the Prince of Peace, the Word, the Way, the Truth, the Resurrection and the Life, Jesus Christ- victorious, powerful, loving and wise... but narrow-mined, I don't think so.
but to be any one of the items on your list....
is it not required to draw lines?

and having drawn the line....held firm by sword

following would be a narrow path

I already replied to what I felt might be some indicators of his narrow-mindedness. Read my next several posts in the thread.

Finally, if anything, Jesus should have been more open-minded about the idea of providing actual, verifiable evidence of his claims. Instead he only ever told people what they needed to believe.

"[God's] voice came out of the cloud, saying: “This is my Son, the one who has been chosen. Listen to him.” -Luke 9:35

Why would anyone dispute God or the authority he gave Christ to teach and lead? :)
