If you don't believe in the Quran why do you think it was written?

I wonder about this excuse. Some say it isn't real and it was made up, but if so why do you think they would do such a thing?

The same reasons lots of religious texts exist - a conglomeration of ideologies combined into one work for the intent of spreading a message, either because of genuine belief or because there was an individual or group who really wanted to pass on their ideology.

It reads to me like a person or persons wrote it who were sort of disenchanted by the morality, as they seen it, of their times and who knew a little bit of the Bible and thought that was working to an extent but there were some things about it that they disagreed with or were ignorant of and other things they disagreed with as far as the then current Jewish and Christian teachings were.

So they wrote it out of a sort of moral self righteousness and social concern.

But why this "ideology"?

Could be many reasons. Could be that they just genuinely believed it, could be that they wanted to enforce this kind of ideology as a way of propping themselves or the status quo up, could be they felt it was advantageous to them or society in some other way.

Again, lots of religious and philosophical texts exist for a variety of reasons.

That depends what you mean by “made up”. I believe most of the Koran (and other Abrahamic scriptures) describes mundane, temporal events. I see no reason to believe they didn’t happen at written, at least in general terms. The main sticking point is whether that was inspired by a divine being or not (and specifically the divine being their believers attribute them to :) ).

There are plenty of stories, myths and positive-spun histories told about significant leaders, heroes and other individuals throughout history, many of which are not tied (at least not as definitively) to religious beings or ideals. It seems perfectly possible that the stories of Mohammed (and Jesus, Abraham etc.) were told and later written down in the same way, with the influence of and relevance to divine beings either presumed at the time or introduced later, especially at the point whether those stories were being used as a basis for building religious-based communities and societies.

The Quran doesn't actually fix the problems in the Bible; if it had all the details, it would be divinely inspired to solve it...

Instead it is a partially humanistic interpretation of some of the prophecy, and thus it has purposely been created to mislead people in a dichotomy.

So lets look at some of the points: so for example the Tanakh says Yahavah became Yeshua (Exodus 15:2, Psalms 118, Isaiah 12:2)...

This is then a Divine Representative, yet the Quran says that Allah created him like Adam (3:59), this isn't true by the prophets.

Yeshua literally states he is the son of God in the Parable of the Wicked Husbandmen (Matthew 21:33-46, Mark 12:1-12, Luke 20:9-19), and the Tanakh says Yahavah is a son of God (Psalms 89:6, Psalms 29:1); yet the Quran like Rabbinic Judaism makes the exact same mistake to deny the Divine Council...

Muhammad even states he has no knowledge of the Divine Council (38:69, 37:8); which is strange considering Gabriel is part of it.

There are multiple points that are purely antagonistic to Christianity on purpose; just so people question what is the real narrative in the middle...

So the reason it is made up, is to find those who'll leave all religious labels behind, to follow the precedents set within all the texts honestly; else if they follow only one of the books (2:285, 10:47, 4:150-151), they will have a partial comprehension, and prove they do not actually follow the Oneness of God (Islam).

Take into account here is a world of delusions and desires, so the religious texts are a way to catch out all the hypocrites who don't pay attention to the Source in the first place; we can all hear God, and most don't actually choose to listen.

In my opinion. :innocent:

Because it was meaningful to the people who wrote it down, in this case having sacred value. Whether it is meaningful to you or me is completely irrelevant.

What about if you don’t believe in the infallibility of the Quran but see it as inspired to a degree in accordance with the human limitations of the Prophet?

The Quran is from God not the prophet. But yeh that's what the Quran calls a disbeliever.

Why? Those who say that the Quran is forged mostly seem to claim it is made based on the Bible. So why would it be written again so it goes against the bible?

It reflects a Judaeo-Christian environment in which there were many diverse religious views. all of which came from somewhere.

This was another one.

I believe the Koran has lots of verses that are inspired by the Divine
I believe the koran has quite a view verses that are inspired by the Emperor(s) at that time

The Divine inspired verses were obviously to guide mankind in the Divine direction
The Emperor inspired verses were obviously to help the Emperor

You asked what "I" believe. This is what I believe

You believe the Koran is infallible and the Word of God only. I do not have any need to prove you are wrong. I respect people their beliefs

Best to ask God, for such specific details ... but only if you are up for ... surprises ... about Koran being infallible

When you say "real" I guess you mean created by god?

I think it was written by a guy who wanted to create a new tribe.
