I see that you were young when you converted to Buddhism. I think you were nineteen, What prompted you? And from what religious background did you come?

I was raised in a Christian home (protestantic) but when i was around 15 years old i started to question a lot of what the priests was talking about in the church, so i started to dive in to the scriptures and found that many things that the bible talked about the priests did not say anything about, and when i asked for time with the priest i asked him many questions that he could not answer and did not know how to explain to me what different things in the bible meant.
This made me wonder about my faith and it over some time lead to that i started to look in to other religions to see if they could answer my questions. so i read/studied different religions for 5 years and what felt most close to me was buddhism.
Ofcourse i had many long discussions with my parents about the issue of converting to buddhism, but my parents was both supporting me and even they did not agree or understood my need of finding deeper answers they said they was happy if i was happy.

I did lose most of my friends in this time because they did not see any benefit in what i did , but i found that if i was to gain anything from my spiritual path i had to convert.
So when i found a local buddhist temple i spoke with them and explained my situation they started to answer many of my questions. and it lead to the full conversion :) and i have not regreated it

I feel sorry that nobody is joining the discussion. Can it be that Buddhism is too well known?

I have heard that some Buddhists believe in A Supreme Being and that some do not. Is that true and do you believe in The God of one creation? Ours. I tend to believe in the creation God. Just one, like Abraham seems to have believed. I think that reality is neater that way. I believe that a person can be led by God. Do you too?

Its ok only a few will ask question :)
Yes there are some buddhists who believe in a creator god, But in my own cultivation i have not yet come across it. But i do not say that there are Gods :) in my understanding there are both Gods, Buddhas , Daos, and devas.

What, for you, is the difference between meditation vs prayer? Is the focus of both of these practices, in any way, comparable or relatable towards regular critical thinking?

How do you define God?
Depend on what way you want to look at what God is. In my study i have not found superior God that is a creator God, But that there are many Gods and many Buddhas.
The way i see the word God is similar to what Buddha means.

One who reach godhood is seen as a God similar to one who reach buddhahood is a buddha Buddha means enlighten one (enlighten being)

For me the difference is that a prayer is performed toward something higher then our self , where meditation is a search within.
a Buddhist search within them self (spirtually) where i see example Christians rely on someone else (god) to fix their problems. no critique of their practice.

But in general both seek answers :)

So the "mystification" that proceeds the two practices lead one back to the same result(need for answers)?

Do you find that your religious practices affect your social and political perspectives? If so, how?

Again in my understanding :)
All religious paths lead toward what some call Paradise others call Nirvana and other again call heaven. The purpose of religion is to gain the understanding of how to get from being a human being to become higher beings (enlighten beings)
But when this paths was first thought they was called Cultivation paths and not religions, and the big difference is that religions are faith based where cultivation paths are result based where you see your own progress in becoming enlighten.
Some paths teach prayer as a way of gaing insight where other teach meditation practice. But both techniques are mean to lead to inner wisdom
