did Jesus live in the world of the mundane and the sacred?

do you?

Revelation 12:12 NKJV Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.”

We all live in the world of the mundane and the world of the sacred...its just a question of how we choose to see things...and as often as not I find religion is the thing that segregates the so-called "holy" from the "profane" and prevents us from seeing the sacred in the everyday world we are inextricably embedded within...but it is a choice I think - we see what we choose to see...or perhaps what we have been programmed to see?

When holy water was rare at best
It barely wet my fingertips
But now I have to hold my breath
Like I'm swimming in a sea of it

It used to be a world half there
Heaven's second rate hand-me-down
But I walk it with a reverent air
'Cause everything is holy now

~ Peter Mayer (lyrics from his song Holy Now)

some do know that they live in both but some believe that the sacred is otherness, elsewhere. these are dualistic thinkers. don't you agree/disagree?

They say the devil's water — it ain't so sweet
You don't have to drink right now

But you can dip your feet
Every once in a little while
-

You sit there in your heartache
Waiting on some beautiful boy to
To save you from your old ways

You play forgiveness
Watch it now, here he comes

He doesn't look a thing like Jesus
But he talks like a gentlemen
Like you imagined
When you were young
(Talks like a gentlemen)
(Like you imagined)

When you were young
-When you were young - killers
