Death is proof that God exists

Why is it that all humans die someday? Even the Christians say “Jesus” died, but not: “God” died. In the Bible, Mark 10:18 says only God is truly good. I can believe this because all humans die and God does not. Humans are beings. God is a being. One dies, the other doesn’t. If you’re honest with yourself, you’ll know you’re not really a good being. Otherwise, you’ll never die. It’s undeniable. Then it should be no surprise to know that humanity is on the verge of extinction; there’s a war between Good and evil behind the scenes. Goodness should have just deleted evil at the beginning, but strangely, evil has enough power to prevent its immediate death. This is why humanity STILL exists today. But by definition, good is stronger than evil; Goodness will win the war and finally vanquish humanity after striking ENOUGH killer blows to evil.

Now, how come humans don’t exist in a perfect abode like what you could call Heaven? A place where there is only peace, one is always strong and healthy, no hatred, no dishonesty, no filth etc.

You are what you create! God is only good and thus cannot create anything that isn’t good. It is known that existence is full of many infirmities and rubbish. Who created those? Definitely not God! This therefore means that humans are actually all the sin, evil, bad, wrong, flaws etc in existence. Yes, there is a human out there who embodies bad breath, initials: BB = Barry Borden, who embodies body odor, initials: BO = Benjamin Oliver, who embodies weakness, initials: WN = Winifred Newton etc.

Good is stronger than evil, therefore God cannot be limited and is already omnipotent and omniscient. He can do absolutely anything good, but there is no such thing as purifying humanity. Making a change to a being means changing identity. Purging humanity would mean deleting the old identity of sin, and somehow creating a new one of purity. That deletion means death. They call it sinner, but that sinner is actually a sin itself!

The fact that humans die means humanity is not good. Accept it. Therefore there’s a higher power ensuring that existence will one day be purified. Too bad no one here will be there!

An all-mighty all-knowing God who doesn't stop would-be rapists from raping or would-be cancer victims from getting cancer is not truly good. Therefore, an omnipotent omniscient truly good theistic supernatural deity doesn't exist.

By the way, Mark 10:18 is contrary to what is written in Isaiah 45:7

your question reminds me somewhat of the heart sutra.

No mind-consciousness element ; There is no ignorance, no extinction of ignorance, and so forth, until we come to : There is no decay and death, no extinction of decay and death. There is no suffering, no origination, no stopping, no path.

basically that the death and decay give rise to birth and generation; which then gives rise to death and decay as the wheel of dharma turns continually.

The universe is drawn in circles. The memory of chariot wheels clacking across small stones foreshadows the asp's death as he wraps himself around the wheel. He is crushed by its embrace. The air crackles when Ra is within. And sailors who've known only cities by the sea and the whip of the rope and sail, come to moor at last amid a crush of flowers, and rejoice and weep and go on. The days before and the days after fill with the odor of pomegranates; the heart ripens like fruit and falls and breaks. Sweet meat for the lips of gods. On such a day one glances into the sky and finds the eye of Ra looks back. One finds loaves of bread on fine reed mats and the eye of Ra looks back. The air crackles. The sun beats on and on and on.

What a silly post. FIRST you'd need to provide verifiable evidence that your God ever lived to begin with. THEN you'd have to provide verifiable evidence that your God hasn't died and is STILL alive. Do that and then we can discuss the matter.

God only exists in the minds and imaginations of people. People are puppeteers and God is the puppet. When people die God will die, and God never existed prior to the first thought by which God was made 'alive' in the first place and subsequently controlled and manipulated in the minds of its believers.

Death is proof positive that God dies when people die. If there were no people , you would find no God.

The premise for your argument is flawed. It assumes two things.
  1. Jesus was correct in the Bible verse you linked.
  2. The Bible contains no errors or contradictions.
You must provide evidence that both assumptions are accurate before you have proof of anything. Most importantly, you would need Jesus to provide evidence that God is the only one that is good.

You would also need to provide some sort of evidence that the concepts of 'good' and 'evil' exist outside of humanity, because there are other species on this earth that experience temporal death who do not identify with the terms.

Another problem is, when one presents evidence, it is seen by some to be forcing ones faith on another.

A bit of a dilemma when an older Faith can be clarified by using the explanations of a newer Faith

Humans die as soon as we are born. Everything is in a role of distinction meaning they take other forms (body to ash) not disappear.

You are made a good person. In you, you can allow and connect with your goodness or tell yourself you are not good as a reflection of your outside world.

I'm not sure what the biblical god is. It has so many definitions. What I do know is that probabl why humans find it hard to help themselves. Many people see themselves as sinners rather than "the eyes of god."

So what about the people that die because of diseases? Or old age? Or innocent people that are killed by crazed gunman? What about those little kids that were murdered in newtown Connecticut? And as far as death proves god exist is if someone comes back form the dead and say he does. Don’t hold your breath.

Why is it that all humans die someday?
There are several answers to that. The main one is that humans have evolved to age and die. The processes involved and the question of their necessity are the subject of much research. (For example, some kinds of lobsters appear to have no age limit: they go on until some accident or some predator (eg us) gets them. Some microorganisms are also understood to be ageless.)
Even the Christians say “Jesus” died, but not: “God” died.
It's easy for God not to die. God exists only as a concept in individual brains, and therefore has whatever quality the individual may attribute to [him].
In the Bible, Mark 10:18 says only God is truly good.
We don't know what that actually means, considering the behavior that the Tanakh attributes to God ─ invasive wars, massacres, mass rapes, human sacrifice, slavery, even religious intolerance.
I can believe this because all humans die and God does not.
So you think that lobsters and certain microorganisms share their moral characteristics with God?
But by definition, good is stronger than evil; Goodness will win the war and finally vanquish humanity after striking ENOUGH killer blows to evil.
But what's good for me mightn't be good for you. What's good for humans may be fatal to other species. There's no single 'good' and no single 'evil'. And as for what displeases God, well, 'sin' is a category of the imagination.
Now, how come humans don’t exist in a perfect abode like what you could call Heaven? A place where there is only peace, one is always strong and healthy, no hatred, no dishonesty, no filth etc.
One reason is that humans are tribal and survival involves competition for resources. Another is that gregarious societies have peck orders and competition for the top spots, the positions of power. And so on.
You are what you create! God is only good and thus cannot create anything that isn’t good.
The bible contradicts you in several places eg

Isaiah 45:7 I form the light and create darkness; I make peace and create evil; I the Lord do all these things.

And when you think about it, if you have a single god who's omnipotent then there's no other possibility.
The fact that humans die means humanity is not good.
No, it means that we evolved as creatures that age and die.

As for our morality, as Steven Pinker points out in his book The Better Angels of our Nature, pound for pound we're actually improving, becoming less violent, more kind.

All that has ever lived has ended up dying. Even the Earth and the Sun will someday "die." Perhaps the galaxy or even the entire universe may die.

I don't think death proves that God exists. All it proves is that everything dies. Now, if it turned out that there were some people living forever - because they were so pious and good - then that would be different.

Humanity is what it is. Some of it is good, some not so good, some downright evil.

Is good really stronger than evil? I sometimes wonder. A cat is stronger than a mouse, but I don't see how that would make either of them "good" or "evil." They just do what they do, whatever is natural and instinctive for them. Humans are more complex than that, but they're still compelled to deal with the limitations of their existence defined by whatever possible "designer" there might have been.
Interesting perspective, Stevicus. I would like to point out that good is sometimes just evil betraying itself, tripping over its own shoelaces and falling face first into a pie.

If you’re honest with yourself, you’ll know you’re not really a good being.
I'm not? I'm human, but that doesn't mean I'm "not really a good being."
Otherwise, you’ll never die.
We die because the body wears out, it can't heal itself as well, DNA reproduction possibly comes to an end, damage to organs accumulates, and we perish. And it would be very bizarre if we didn't but everything else did. And we would be miserably overcrowded and not have enough for everyone if we didn't die. And I truly believe that very few people who have ever lived would have the endurance for immortality.

If we’re being frank here, would a truly good being ever have a filthy rotten corpse? Why would a truly good being ever die? A truly good being is supposed to be magical, extraordinary, supernatural etc

Humans are clearly limited and can only do so much. A truly good being would have ultimate power and ability; not limited in any way. Considering power and ability, which is superior? Right or wrong? Good or evil? According to how things in existence work, good and right are superior to evil and wrong. This explains why Good is able to vanquish evil. You think Good God can be killed by anything? Nope. Humans have an end because they’re not good. Harsh truth. The reason why humanity still exists and hasn’t been ultimately deleted (inevitable final death) is because killing off evil is like cooking a meal; it’s only ready after sometime with the fire and not immediately. Should be simple to understand.

If we’re being frank here...

To my knowledge, only one of the people who responded to this thread is being Frank.

...would a truly good being ever have a filthy rotten corpse?

When my body and mind expire, I will leave behind a clean and rotten corpse. But that's only because I'm a bit of a germophobe and I like clean.

Why would a truly good being ever die?

Again, if you are speaking of temporal death, because that's what carbon based life forms do.

A truly good being is supposed to be magical, extraordinary, supernatural etc

Humans are clearly limited and can only do so much. A truly good being would have ultimate power and ability; not limited in any way.

On what authority?

Considering power and ability, which is superior? Right or wrong? Good or evil?

Again, these are merely human constructs that don't exist outside of our species.

According to how things in existence work, good and right are superior to evil and wrong.

Again, on what authority?

This explains why Good is able to vanquish evil.

Then why hasn't it?

What the heck is "a truly good being?" Is a maple tree or a rabbit a truly good being? Surely they are free of sin and living as God intended.
Or is the "being" actually the soul and the corruptible bodies just vessels?
