The religion you would choose if you realized you're gay

On average, Rastafari must be one of the most anti-gay religious groups in the world.
I didn't know that! It also looks like in Jamaica I'd be in hot water if I were gay...so scratch that one. I'd maybe pick something else.

Whatever you want me to be.
The one God would want you to choose. What is the point of a religion that only suits yourself? If you leave God and his laws out of the equation, what is the point of religion in the first place? You may as well be your own god.
So what you are saying is that all current religions are pointless, since none of them follow God or "his laws".

I already am. If anyone else would like me to be theirs, I am currently recruiting minions. No experience required.

Which would you choose and why?

I would choose the religion that teaches:
1) "Do unto others what you want them to do unto you" AND puts this in practise not just words (you want others to belittle and bagatellise you?)
2) "Do not judge (feelings/beliefs/being of others)" AND puts this in practise not just words (Judging gay is still judging)

They should openly declare "Gay is Okay", realizing that the need to say this is already crazy

One of the reasons I dumped Catholicism and the Abrahamic religions as a whole is its anti-LGBT stance. I could no longer be part of any organization or group that teach people to be ashamed of something so human and beautiful. My present religion is fine with LGBT people. I wouldn't have anything to do with it if it wasn't.

Matrixism, the religion of my belonging, is open to anybody, regardless of sexual orientation.

Post #33 explains why I converted from Christianity to Matrixism.

My religion, Matrixism, tolerates any sexual orientation, including naturally bi-curious men, but only has a few hundred followers. One of the tenants of Matrixism, is to follow along as well with another religion that is more widely followed.

The one that was true.
What would the utility or convenience of a religion have to do with anything?

In the past I thought I was bisexual or pansexual, but that didn't have any influence on my religion. I was moving from protestant Christianity to pantheism to agnosticism during that time, but there was no conflict between any sexual orientation and any of these religious positions - Christianity here tends to be very liberal.
I came to the conclusion that I'm actually asexual a couple years ago, and that also had no influence. By that time I already identified as a Satanist and that hasn't changed since.

Thousands and thousands, all over the world.

The movie the Matrix, along with indicators we are living in a simulated reality has convinced me Matrixism is a true religion.

A "machine" is any causal physical system, hence we are machines; thus, machines can be conscious. The question is: What type of machines could be conscious? Odds are robots passing the Turing Test Turing test - Wikipedia would be indistinguishable from us in their behavioral capacities --and could be conscious (i.e. feel), but we can never be certain. There's no way for any "conscious" being to know whether or not he is actually experiencing a virtual reality produced by an interface between his brain and a computer .

However, there are some possible indications we are living in a computer simulation....

1. A particle passing through a double-slit behaves as a wave causing an interference pattern when unobserved, but this same particle doesn't create an interference pattern when its path of travel can be determined by an observer. This collapse of the wave-function could be happening in order to save computational resources necessary for our simulated reality.

2. There is indeed a mark of intelligence left in our genetic code as evident by how the numeric and semantic message of 037 appears in our genetic code. Each codon relates to 3 other particular codons having the same particular type of initial nucleobase and sequential nucleobase subsequently then followed by a different ending nucleobase. Half of these 4 set of codon groups ( whole family codons ) each code for the same particular amino acid. The other half of those 4 set of codon groups ( split codons ) don't code for the same amino acid. So then, in the case of whole family codons, there are 37 amino acid peptide chain nucleons for each relevant nucleobase determinant of how a particular amino acid gets coded. Start codons express 0 at the beginning of 37 Hence, the meaningful numeric and semantic message of 037 gets unambiguously and factually conveyed to us descendants of our cosmic ancestor(s) with our genetic code invented by a superior intelligence beyond that of anybody presently bound to Earth.

This mark of intelligence left in our genetic coding is indicative of an intelligent designer, who may be responsible for the simulation of our reality.

3. Theoretical physicist Dr. S. James Gates Jr. has revealved that a certain string theory, super-symmetrical equations describing the nature and reality of our universe, contains embedded computer codes; these codes have digital data in the form of 0's and 1's identical to what makes web browsers function, and they're error-correct codes.

At least one of the following statements is very likely to be true:

1. The human species is very likely to go extinct before reaching a post-human stage.
2. Any post-human civilization is extremely unlikely to run a significant number of simulations of their evolutionary history.
3. We are almost certainly living in a computer simulation.

"Bostrom's argument rests on the premise that given sufficiently advanced technology, it is possible to represent the populated surface of the Earth without recourse to digital physics; that the qualia experienced by a simulated consciousness are comparable or equivalent to those of a naturally occurring human consciousness, and that one or more levels of simulation within simulations would be feasible given only a modest expenditure of computational resources in the real world."

Are You Living in a Simulation

I took the red pill knowing there is no turning back. I didn't take the blue pill, because I didn't want the story to end, then waking up in bed and simply believing whatever I want to believe. I took the red pill for staying in Wonderland and getting shown how deep the rabbit-hole goes.

After taking the red pill, I watched the below video about possible evidence of us living in a simulated reality.

Why would we have to choose a religion? "None" seems to work pretty well, IMO.

Whether I was gay myself wouldn't really be a factor. I don't need to be gay myself to be opposed to anti-LGBTQ groups; empathy is enough for that.

Ok..you're not religious. I get that. So then,. as an outsider of any religious community, what religion do you think is most empathetic towards LGBT persons?

What does the Q stand for in LGBTQ?

Ok..you don't choose to belong to any religion...I get that. :)

So then, as a non-follower of any religion, which one of the widely followed religions do you think is most tolerant of gays?

Unitarian Universalism

Back to the OP:

What religion would I "choose"? The question goes far beyond my sexual orientation from birth, does it not?

Were I born into a Totalitarian Regime, where State Religion was Mandatory (be it political religion or theistic one-- same difference), I'd obviously "choose" that, to avoid an untimely demise.

But it's hardly a matter of choice to me-- I cannot make myself believe in things for which there is no sane reason to believe.

Could I suddenly become a Santa Clausian? And preach the wonders of not being Naughty, to avoid a Coal Stocking? The Sacred Placing of Purified Cookies and Milk on the Ritual Table next to the co-opted decorated Pagan Tree?

I'd seriously need some evidence that Santa was real, and truly did travel around the world in a single night.

The same goes for any other religious claim; I'd need to see the Facts* first.

But, to avoid being burnt at the stake, or hung, or compressed under a pile of rocks, or drowned, or drawn and quartered? Or shot.** Sure. I can pay Lip Service if needed.
