What should be punishment for adultery?

Who gets the fine money? And if it goes to the state, won't that hurt the person who got cheated on? That seems doubly-cruel.

I voted paying a fine. The person should be charged for it, so, it is recorded. If the person did it again second time, a higher fine he must pay every time. It can be very devastating for a partner, whose partner cheats and comitts adultery.

So you want the secular state to make money off cheating spouses?

We have to be careful as to not adopt the zealotry of the primitives in the third world.

How would you decide the amount of the fine if one cheater is a minimum wage McDonald's employee and the other a Trumpish billionaire married to an aging supermodel who knew him very well when she landed him?
Tom
The fine would make a lot of sense, and a lot of money. Society wins out because minimum wage people would not be able to afford to have affairs. And, to make more money for border walls or the military, rich people could be encouraged to have affairs. And more middle-class people would be encouraged to make more money so that they can someday afford to fool around.

But, there might be a problem on who's going to judge these cases? Jesus asked for the one without sin to cast the first stone and nobody did. I don't think it's much better these days. I think the scariest thing around would be those that act as if they are so "pure" as to never, ever cheat, or to even think about cheating, and having them be the ones judging the rest of the people.

No, would it not be best if people did not cheat.

Regards Tony

So it would be best if people did cheat?

It looked like a triple negative to me

So not doublespeak, but triplespeak? Gotchagotchagotcha.

To the reply I answered it was in context.

No to wanting to punish people.

Best if people chose not to cheat in the first place.

Regards Tony
