I used to attend what many refer to today as church, but

... I was a child with ADD and sitting through mass was kind of like torture.

Yes, I'm being serious.

In more recent days, I have gone to UU fellowships on and off. But it isn't hands-on enough for me. Doing my own rituals is better.

OMG, yeah!

In first and second grades, the school I went to was attached to the cathedral of the Archdiocese of Gary, Indiana. Holy Angels.

Imagine starting every school day with high Mass, in Latin, as a hyperactive 6 y/o.

It was horrible. I really did get nauseous.
I hated school.

Nothing my eye, Something for sure
Reality is nature, nature is its own bible about how bloody indifferent nature is to absolutely everything. Church dont see reality. Church is blind to people too. They have absolutely no grasp of how different reality is from the bible.

.....God wasn't there so I left...I looked in all the usual places but didn't find him.....then he found me. He introduced me to his family and asked me to become part of it....all I needed to do was follow the teachings of his son.....something the churches never did. I agreed and have enjoyed learning about him ever since. :)

I love church. Gives me a sense of community and spirituality. I'm just mindful not to step on people's cultural and religious toes and don't visit the ones I'm not affiliated with.

We are all affiliated
two eyes
two ears
two arms
two legs
too much together to abandon one of you :)-

In my view you were not driven out, you chose to leave because you did not want to see who you are.

While inside you are a carrying person, who deserves a second chance,

Take it, you will live a peaceful life for it :)-

which caused me to realise atheism is not so nasty.

"nasty" is not a word in the Lord's vocabulary
Believe me, I checked :)

Are you telling me my life? What do you know of it?

Nasty is a word that well describes some christians and it does not matter if its in your version of the english language but it is in the real version of the english language. Here is a dictionary definition.
Nasty:
1 very bad or unpleasant.
2 behaving in an unpleasant or spiteful way.
3 an unpleasant or harmful person or thing.

Yup all 3 match

I know nothing of your life.,.,..,.,.,.

I was just praying in my way for your well being;

thats all :)-

Ok, but you were kind of dismissive of what happend, incidentally showing a little of the intolerance i experienced which only served to confirm.

And ill wish you to become atheist, fair enough?

Any church seems to me to mean settling down with its particular creed. I believe Jesus for God is for moving forward. So, I don't go to any church (except RF church :D) because it is my belief that there is no church that doesn't settle on lies and they don't care imo. Proverbs 14:5 Proverbs 19:9 John 8:44 Proverbs 13:5 Exodus 23:1 Revelation 22:15 Proverbs 12:22 Proverbs 19;22 Proverbs 26:28 Leviticus 19:11 Psalms 58:3 Psalms 101:7

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (the way The Truth and the life)

1 Peter 2:1 Rid yourselves of all deceit!
