I used to attend what many refer to today as church, but

I no longer attend because....... ?

It's more, I go to some churches for solace. I like the environment for meditation and prayer. However, I don't attend services and take any house of worship's sacraments because its rude unless I'm part of that faith both in belief and practice.

I love church. Gives me a sense of community and spirituality. I'm just mindful not to step on people's cultural and religious toes and don't visit the ones I'm not affiliated with. I go to a different church now because they work with helping minorities, education, helping the homeless, and things of that nature. We have a religious foundation; but, the practice is less ritual and more charity as its dogma.

Can I change the statement? I am attending what some would refer to as church today but I wish not to attend because....I want to go to a Quaker meetinghouse.
If you don't mind me asking what makes you not want to attend, and why not just leave if you have that strong of a conviction? I had heard of the Quakers before, and no not from the oatmeal box. After you mentioned it I went to take a brief look, sounds and looks interesting. In other words, I was intrigued. Something I'll need to look into more.

The church I go to is homophobic and transphobic and I feel left out because the church is Pentecostal and I am not.I am a minor, and can't drive so I can't go anywhere without my foster parent or without her permission. It's her church I go to and her sister is the pastor so I can't just leave even if I disagree with some of the things the pastor says.

Respect and love, beautiful, that's where it should start.

Wow! Yeah I know that feeling, tied down to other people's obligations, I grew up around that as well. Until I got older and I was able to get out on my own, that's when I was able to be more free and it changed. As like nature, sometimes things just take time. In the meantime keep your passion and don't give up on your own convictions, never.

I sometimes do silent worship on my own since I can't go to meetings. A friend of mine has consider doing it with me through they aren't Quaker.

See! There you go! There always seems to be doors that open one way or another if it's meant to be, go for it !

If you don't mind me asking, why not anymore? No pressure, feel free not to answer
Because Jesus didn't fulfil the messianic prophecies and even if he were the messiah that wouldn't make him G-d.
