Your children around transgender classmates

So, if a boy decides to be a girl in a prepubescent classroom, do you think there is any negative impact on the developing mind of a child being taught to call he/him her/she and accept it as nothing disordered or unhealthy?

Should "she" use the girl's room?

Please explain why or why not...

I think that there is certainly the potential for negative impact to the child, his / her classmates and society, but why is that? Is it primarily due to social reasons that will certainly change over time? IMO the child is deluded and I don't see how that can be positive. So even if the social environment changes there would still be that negative impact which needs to be addressed rather than appeased.

A similar circumstance would be cases where a person decides one of their limbs isn't a natural part of their bodies and wants it removed. It seems to be it would be more negative to remove the limb than to deal with the root of the problem, the feeling that the limb isn't a part of them.

Why would I quote the Bible? It is so full of contradictions and silliness.

If there isn't another option, like a unisex bathroom, absolutely.

If using the girl's room alleviates some of the pain and stress that the kid is dealing with...let them pee where they need to.

It shouldn't even be an issue in schools.

I'm of the opinion that children should be of the same sex they were born with until reaching a certain age of adulthood.

There's a transgender girl recently in the news here in Australia since she questioned the Australian PM on some comments he made about transgender kids in Australian schools.

My kids (8 and 10) watch the news with my wife and I, so we had a good discussion on it.

They seem to have far less of a hang up about it than most adults.

The idea that a biological male can claim to be a female is one of personal belief. It is as much an ideology as any religion.

Therefore, my concern is the systematic enforcement of this ideology.

That being said, no child should be forced to refer to another child as their "preferred pronoun" rather than the pronoun decided by their biology.

It is a matter of personal belief and no one has the right to force a child to accept an ideology.

Therefore, restrooms should also be designated by biological sex, to further avoid systematic support of this ideology.

If the child is truly transgendered, nature will reveal it via the child's peers. This is a much more accurate evaluation than taking him/her to a Psychologist.

Of course, the very first evaluator is the child's mother. She would know way before the child is exposed to the public.

Children aren't so weak that their minds break if someone behaves differently. But in general they bully the different whether they're gay or dress weirdly, physical features, have permission to skip some classes, it doesn't matter if it's something adults would care about. Funny enough a lot of the people who think developing minds are damaged from having someone they dislike in class are adults who spank or use other coercion and violence on their own kids.

Seems like too minor an issue for a large public to think about, an adult teacher should have problem solving capabilities of that level. If not, the principal should by virtue of being given such position.

If there's no one with brains in the adults at school or the community is so poor it can't arrange for any differences then exempt kids from activities that require separate rooms.

What arbitrary age is enough, if you break someone's mind as a child, what age would you allow them to start to recover their own identity?

How would you like it if you lived in a society where people told you that your heterosexuality was "just a question of personal belief", "an imposed ideology" that should be countered by having only homosexual relationships.

My concern is that you have no idea of what is natural and what is unnatural and are prone to forcefully impose unnatural behaviours on others, in this case on transgender people (who have always been with us throughout our long human history).
