Well Ellen Brown.I am preoccupied with them because they believe in soul sleep (the idea that once you die your soul ceases to exist until God remakes your soul.)And i like talking to people from both sides of the argument.Because i go back and forth between the soul sleep idea and the soul leaving the body idea a lot.

The body as two distinct entities cannot be reconciled with what is written that humankind was created in the image of God. God is Holy (ONE) and so to be made in God's image means holy (one). We can't be two souls, a physical and a spiritual, stuck with each other until the death of us........or by magic....is apart from the will of God. A human being is one substance. The problem has been since Adam that the one substance has joined itself to the Earth instead of joining itself to The God Almighty.

Jehovah's Witnesses are assuming that they will be taking over the World. So, obviously, people should be obsessed with them. Don't you think?

The JW's assumptions do not affect my beliefs. Don't wish to violate any rules here. I leave them to God to deal with. I reserve the right to put them on Ignore.

You, LORD, brought me up from the realm of the dead; you spared me from going down to the pit. Psalms 30:3

Surely it was for my benefit that I suffered such anguish. In your love you kept me from the pit of destruction; you have put all my sins behind your back. Isaiah 38:17

Is your question about the JW teaching that Jesus went to hell (Sheol) and these seem to say that he didn't?

What do jehovah's witness think of Psalms 30:3 and Isaiah 38:17?
First of all, one can do one's own search or research as found at www.jw.org and www.jwbroadcasting.

Apparently King David was spared from seeing the 'pit ' as per Psalms 30:3, and I find verse 5 mentions his being under God's anger was like just for a moment, whereas being in God's favor is for a lifetime (and will be an 'everlasting lifetime' when David is resurrected - Acts 2:34) Compare: Psalms 16:10; Psalms 28:1 and Jonah 2:6

As far as Isaiah 38:17 why not start at Isaiah 38:9-20 because Hezekiah concludes that the most important thing in life is to be able to praise Jehovah God. So, being alive was important to Hezekiah because as Isaiah 38:18 says the grave can Not praise God, death can Not celebrate God, those going down to the 'pit' cannot hope for God's truth.

The Jehovah's Witnesses teach that The Earth must be a Paradise of God and that it will be so under the direction of the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses. But, without comedy, where would we really BE?

What's Psalms 30:3 and Isaiah 38:17 about, please?

And, heads up! If you want a link on the forum to Psalms you have to include the s. Not "Psalm", but Psalms.

I don't get Isaiah 38:17.What does it mean by "pit of corruption." Why would the corruption of the pit be scary. If it's only your body that goes there?
