Biblical PLAGUE? Experts BAFFLED as mysterious swarm of LOCUSTS invade Mecca’s holy sites

Comic book nonsense. All locusts swarm and travel considerable distances, which is their defining characteristic.

"Of the 5,000 species of grasshoppers in the world, 9 in particular are truly remarkable. These are the legendary migrating locusts, which form incredibly massive swarms---enough to darken the sky. In 1955 a swarm in Morocco measured 155 miles long and 12 miles wide. . . ."

Not only do they develop huge swarms, but all are capable of traveling tremendous distances. In 1952 one horde flew 3,000 miles from Africa to India. "

We have June bugs here where I live. Every June, they do the same thing -It's part of their cycle of life.

...But hundreds of generations of locusts live out their entire lives without mutating into "gregarious" locusts. They have to be triggered for that to happen, as they are typically solitary creatures according to science.

The bible contains a lot of symbolic language. The Trick is to figure out
what is symbolic and what is not.

I think there is much exaggeration in the bible as well, evidenced by the messiah who was prophesied to be "King of Israel" and was expected to rule in this world from an actual throne... Then he came in riding on a measly donkey. :)

They're due for a plague of frogs next week. They should make quick work of the locusts. Problem solved.

It actually does make sense, scientifically, that grasshopper predators, such as the frog, will prosper from this.

Looked at Mt Carmel lately :) That's the Universal House of Justice. The buildings on the Arc, that is the Ark of God.

So then, WHO is Zechariah speaking of here?
"Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout in triumph, O daughter of Jerusalem!
See, your King comes to you, righteous and victorious, gentle and riding on a
donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey. And I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim
and the horse from Jerusalem, and the bow of war will be broken. Then He will

proclaim peace to the nations; His dominion will extend from sea to sea, and
from
the Euphrates to the ends of the earth.…"

Biblical PLAGUE? Experts BAFFLED as mysterious swarm of LOCUSTS invade Mecca’s holy sites

"A massive swarm of locusts has plagued Mecca this week, as officials struggle to remove the infestation at Islam’s holiest site. Shocking footage posted on social media showed how the locust swarms covered the Great Mosque in Saudi Arabia. The Makkah Municipality confirmed the phenomenon which residents claim has never been seen before."

Revelation 9:3.
Then from the smoke came locusts on the earth, and they were given power

Swarming is what locusts do.

Swarming is what locusts do.

"Serotonin, the brain chemical involved in depression, anger, and a variety of other human behaviors, turns out to have another surprising role: It transforms desert locusts from solitary, innocuous bugs into swarming, voracious pests that can ravage orchards and fields in a matter of hours. The findings, published in tomorrow's issue of Science, could point the way to new locust-control methods that don't rely on insecticides. Most of the time, the desert locust (Schistocerca gregaria) is a bland, greenish insect that lives an inconspicuous life, shunning other members of its species and flying only by night. But when their densities reach a certain threshold, locusts become gregarious"

@ChristineM, they actually mutate and change colors when they become gregarious.

The following picture shows a gregarious locust and a typical locust. Same species, just one has higher seratonin levels.... Dr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde.

Glad you highlighted "most of the time".

But not "But when their densities reach a certain threshold, locusts become gregarious"

It only takes a few days in whatever period for devastating swarms to have an effect.

Black crickets are also an issue there.

10 Plagues of Mecca: Horrid Locust Swarms Invade Islam’s Holiest City (VIDEOS)

An operation has been launched to eradicate the insects; whether the calamity was a divine message or the result of migration remains a mystery, but the massive swarms of locusts might still look unsettling to some The Grand Mosque in Mecca.....

((*Note: The image above is that of people, not Locusts))

Keep in mind also, if one is prone to seeking to find if the Quran contains sura (scripture) that pertain to plagues, that Muhammad crafted his political ideology using the writings, teachings, pertaining to both Judaism and Christianity. Therefore, the answer would be, yes.
Just two samples:
Sura 7/133
So We sent upon them the flood and locusts and lice and frogs and blood as distinct signs, but they were arrogant and were a criminal people.

Quran Sura search, "Plagues"

Did you find anything concerning the abundance now of black crickets and roaches?

That is very strange. Especially considering that in Joel 1:4, God seems to use other insects as well as locusts, and the scientific non-believers (who I respect and like BTW) haven't taught us the scientific relevance of the abundance of roaches and crickets.

Perhaps they question the authenticity of multiple species of insects rapidly coming out of seemingly nowhere?

Possibly.
It should be interesting to see what unfolds concerning this in the days to come.

Except that was not the Mission of Jesus the Christ, it was not the age of peace that he brought, in fact Christ said;

Matthew 10:34 "Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword."

The world has rejected the message of Peace in this age.

There will be consequences because of that rejection and this OP could very well be one sign of many. It was the Muslims that persecuted Gods Messenger and banished Him to the Holy land in fulfillment of prophecy.

In my opinion.

The CONSEQUENCE for Israel rejecting the Messiah was the end of Israel for 1900 years.
And a massive death toll, plus the following pogroms, persecutions and holocaust.
Jesus said Jerusalem will be under Gentile control until the time of the Gentiles is fulfilled.
Jerusalem was back in Jewish hands in 1967.
