Muhammad protected Jews

I'll need Muslim posters for this but all the Muslims who hate Jews are going against Islam since my Saudi 'friend' said that Muhammad allowed Jews to pray with him and he protected them.

The Saudi is anti-Israel and likes America but not their politics. I know another Saudi girl and a British born Pakistani guy whom support Palestine. I know an Omani girl, a Guinean guy and a Sudanese guy who hate both America and Israel.

I've yet to meet a pro-Israel Muslim but I have heard the Naturei Karta are Orthodox Jews who are pro-Palestine

as are the Haredi

The Neturei Karta are not really pro-Palestine -- they are anti-secular Israel. They believe in a religion notion of Zionism which (in their understanding) only be effected in the absence of a secular, political state of Israel. That will lead immediately to the arrival of the messiah and the instituting of a theocratic Jewish state.

The community in the second video is a group which has historically been exempt from army service as they are dedicated to studying Jewish. However, there are many who believe that the number of people employing that exemption far outstrips the number who are actually studying, and the rest should have to serve. Thus, the conflict when the government attempts to draft more from the community.

It is all documented in the Qur'an, and basically Muhammad PBUH said to protect the Christians and Jews that were not fighting against him. Not being an expert, later on, the ones who followed Muhammad PBUH charged a small tax to do this.

IMHO, modern extremists like Isis are not Muslims at all. They do not pray, and do not even have Qurans. They rape, and pillage, and are like a pack of Dogs to me.

Yeah, those Jews in the video are radicals. They are not satisfied with Israel because they want it to be a total theocracy... Also, they spelled diametrically wrong. o_O:rolleyes:

Actually, I was referring to Muhammad PBUH only, who lived in the 7th century. After his death, the leaders of Islam took a very different path, and did numerous atrocities.

Huh that opinion makes you pretty much a heretic in the eyes of the Sunnah.

You genuinely just criticised the Rashidun.

Also your Mohammed himself committed numerous atrocities. After all he was the one who started to kill Jews in the first place.

Is this a serious thread?

I think it's a good thread. I think it's highlighting the difference between Israeli politics and Jewish religion.

Back to the OP. If by "protected" you mean "beheaded", then yes, sweetheart that he was, Muhammad "protected" the Jews.

ISIS is horrific, no argument there.

The problem is that I think you're wrong when you say that they're not Muslims. In fact, I think that if you really look into it, you'll be hard pressed to prove that claim. The problem is that ISIS practices a from of Islam that's pretty easy to defend as "real" Islam. Sad to say.

On the Arabian peninsula? Sure thing.
Before Mohammed multiple Jewish tribes lived there. They controlled cities, oasis and were big on trading.

After Mohammed that all changed. Various tribes were massacred with women and children being taken as (sex)-slaves.

All tribes except the Bnei Chorath ceased to exist.
The Bnei Chorath continued to live in today southern Saudi Arabia until they were expelled from there in the 1930s.
They fled to Yemen and from there with the Yemeni Jews to Israel.

And, you would know what the real Islam is how? I was deeply immersed in Islam for >7 years, and am still very Muslim, though not actively practicing.

Choose your version of the truth. American, or Middle Eastern. I am old and can see big chunks of American history as fabrications. The biggest lies seem to come from Fundi Christians, who by their lies have proved that their beliefs are not real.

By reading the Quran. It seems to me that ISIS can defend its actions based on what's in the Quran. I think that that's a huge problem for Islam.

And um, you are suggesting that you have read the Quran, like totally IN context? Having read it, I recall only that Muhammad PBUH only said to attack and kill folk if they were attacking the followers of Muhammad. Ok, so what if I propose that someone read the Christian Old Testament totally IN context? I'd suggest that there is some argument that Joshua, the one after Moses, led bloody attacks on people's all through what we mistakenly call the "Holy Land". In places, his armies were instructed to wipe them all out, to include women, babies and animals.

Not trying to advance any belief system, but simply to keep the argument honest. :)

You can search this forum from stem to stern and you will not find an instance of me defending the Bible. I'm not fan of it either. But your argument appears to be of the "two wrongs make a right" flavor?

As for totally "in" context. The Quran declares itself to be timeless and easy to understand. When people try to defend the Quran with all this context nonsense it's like they haven't read it themselves. It declares itself to be perfect AND easy to understand.

And remember, ISIS can and has made very good arguments that they are only attacking people who have been attacking followers of Muhammad.

How about this, can you find an action taken by ISIS that cannot be defended in the Quran?

I'm trying to share a civil conversation with you and if you do not wish that, please tell me. I am American, and a Veteran, and was once a very active Muslim. I am writing this as I listen to "Let Mr Blue Sky In" on Youtube. So, I can not be holding an RPG and waiting to attack someone. :)

In my private conversation with other Muslims, it seems to be a consensus that ISIS members do not pray and do not read the Quran. Some Muslims insist that these folk are not Muslims. There is a huge and well documented commentary of their atrocities throughout Iraq, and Syria. Other Muslims say they are Daish (Dogs I am told).

As to the Qur'an, some recognized facts perhaps? The Qur'an was originally written in Classical Arabic, a dialect that is no longer spoken, and generally not written. There are "Interpretations" of it around and I think the best of these is the Yusuf Ali Interpretation. Yusuf Ali was born in Pakistan or India, but I think grew up in the UK.

Yes there are passages in the Qur'an that advocate killing and violence against those who were first attacking the followers of Muhammad PBUH. Now, if you turn to the Bible, in the Old Testament, in the commentary after the death of Moses, when Joshua was leading, he was instructed to go through some villages, and wipe them out, to include men, women, children and animals. Not questioning the will of God at all, but if we are going to accuse Muslims, then let's hold everyone accountable.

These days, I'm less and less Religious (owing to the tender mercies of believers) and more interested in History. :)

When people try to defend the Quran with all this context nonsense it's like they haven't read it themselves. It declares itself to be perfect AND easy to understand.

But it isn't, it's a book of riddles.

And btw, I'd like to see a "Qur'an-only" terrorist, find me one.
