Elizabeth Warren (D), you have my respect and my support.

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
One of my biggest issues and concerns in the modern-day is the degradation of the family unit from where one spouse could make enough income to keep a family fed and housed rather comfortably in a middle class bracket, and the other would be able to spend full time raising and rearing children to be emotionally and mentally stable functioning adults to a larger extent.

I often times wondered why this travesty occurred and what the hell had happened to the nuclear family. It would appear many of our problems started occurring once families turned into two-income families , causing children to be turned into latchkey isolationists.

I wish I had seen this sooner from Tucker Carlson, it really does explain a lot about what happened. .

If Elizabeth Warren ever decided to run for president on a campaign ticket to revitalize a strong family unit and to help and encouraged bringing back one income households enabling the support of one breadwinner to clothe and feed their entire family, I would happily be bipartisan enough to support her in every way.

It's just a shame that the Democrat Party wouldn't have her be more vocal on the issue and if Tucker Carlson is right the Democrats don't want to. Personally, I think it's because Democrats are far more different and further left now than they used to be, which is in fact a key reason why I went Republican and not Democrat myself.

Either way, you impressed the hell out of me Elizabeth Warren and keep up the good fight and work that you are doing here.

God sakes alive! There's actually a Democrat that I like after all. Who would have thunk?

Which teaches me a personal lesson and reminder that I should actually look at the person , not the party all the time. Something maybe others could look at it as well.

If my party loses next election cycle, and if Elizabeth Warren ever runs and gets the vote, that would still be a win-win situation either way in my book.

Otherwise I'm sticking with Trump and another round of dynamite.

Presently it seems she's doing an exploratory bid for the presidency. I think I can live with that in light of her policies and vision for which she deserves a shot at the top office which would make me feel conflicted on party lines but happy nonetheless.

Will the Democrats do the right thing or will it be Bummy Sanders supporting the status quo and business as usual winning the next Presidential nomination race? I hope not.

The Democratic Party is split between the Dems who are sponsored by large corporations and uber rich billionaires, and the Dems who are not, Nowhere Man. The first group is not concerned with such things as bringing back the days when one breadwinner could support a whole family, while the second group is concerned with such things.

I don't mean to say or imply that the specific issue of bringing back one breadwinner days is something all Dems in the second group promote, but only that Dems in that group are concerned with the economic health and financial success of the middle class and the poor. Dems in the first group, however -- the ones supported by large corporations and uber rich billionaires -- are not very much concerned with the economic health and well-being of anyone who is not in the top ten percent of the economic ladder.

Hillary Clinton, for instance, was a corporate Democrat, Bernie Sanders was not a corporate Democrat.

I don't don't think wanting people to be able to make ends meet without all adults in a household working full time is a partisan issue. I think it's just a complicated 'how do we do that' question in our current economy with different ideas on how to accomplish that. For me, things like preventing another housing crisis, and putting caps on rent increase, as well as making medical insurance and medical bills no longer a huge money sink on families is the direction I'd go. Which is indeed more left than standard us DNC but fairly standard by European standards.

That said if it were a democratic primary between Hillary, Bernie or Elizabeth I'd vote for Elizabeth in a heartbeat

I have considered starting a thread based on this.
I thought I would title it
"How Feminism is Destroying America".

But I have never felt quite like putting my hand into that blender.

While the feminism movement is part of the subject here, it definitely had an impact on our economy and children who are still dependent upon their mothers for care and nurturing. Mothers who willingly abandon their children for sake of their careers putting them into hands of strangers like daycare, or even worse leaving them alone as latchkey children . I wouldn't mind participating in that subject whether it is a debate or discussion.

The topic of course in my thread is the issue over our reliance now on two incomes as opposed to one income in the past that has the effect that we see on families now.

It makes it no small wonder as to why kids today I have so many mental issues due to the lack of their parents being around or having strangers rear them in sterile communal environments or through social media where they seek advice and guidance.

I hope Democrats do vote for her.

Even I will admit that she would be worth the time and opportunity to give her a go at the presidency. Even if her and Trump don't see eye-to-eye, it would be nice to be in a situation where even if I lose as a Republican I would still win for sake of the country itself.

To me, that's the ultimate election and a way for a bipartisan governmental term to keep the wheels of government rolling instead of being stuck in the mud all the time doing nothing but slinging poo at each other as things are now.

I could care less about the Pocahontas ribbing and stuff like that, if she is serious enough about the country itself and focuses on the issues and is not swayed and distracted by characterizations, that would be the type of personality this country needs right now.

To be honest, after Trumps term ends, I don't even know who would be a good candidate on the Republican side because everyone I like probably won't even be considered.

People like Colin Powell for instance on side of the Republicans.

I don't see women choosing to be the career focused parent as any worse than men deciding to, tbh. But I agree that there should be the option of one parent bein able to stay home if they want to, and that underfunded and overcrowded daycares present a number of issues. Though maybe not the same ones you do, because I think kids being at home with just the family lack socialization opportunities they get by being around diverse numbers of other kids in an environment where more play happens than school.
