Honestly . . . he's such an anomaly that when he was running for election I thought that he would either change everything for the better, breaking an obviously corrupted system, or he would bring about the end of the world.

I was all for him in either case, but if he's just another product of that broken system then what's the point in impeaching him? Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

It's just a distraction. I don't think about it much.

Unfortunately incompetence does not qualify as grounds for impeachment (note spelling).

And it would be very easy to impeach him. That does not mean that he would be removed from office.

No problem. I see that you are from Norway and that English is not your first language. Let me explain some of the finer points of impeachment since you are probably not fully aware of our political system. I have no clue about the Norwegian political system at all so I do not expect you to fully understand ours. Impeachment only takes majority vote from the House of Representatives. It amounts to a formal charge and a trial is the result. It is the equivalent of an indictment in the civilian world. An indicted person has not been found guilty yet, but he will be going to trial for a criminal charge. The House of Representatives is currently majority Democrat so getting an impeachment would not be that difficult. But then it has to go to the Senate for trial. There it takes a two thirds super-majority to be a "guilty" finding. If found guilty in the trial he would be removed from office. And that is not going to happen. The Senate is majority Republican and it would take 67 votes, which means that 22 out of 53 Republican Senators would have to vote guilty along with all of the Democrats and that is not too likely to happen.

Impeached? Sure, why not.
Removed from office? Hazardous. I'd anticipate riots and mayhem.

I am against impeachment if there is not chance of conviction. And if the evidence comes out of him acting in such a manner that it would flip 22 Republican Senators I don't think there would be much popular support of Trump left. I see impeachment as a very low probability but if it got to the point where Republicans themselves got on board I do not foresee any riots. In fact Trump (who never settles:rolleyes:) would do what he always does when he is obviously losing a lawsuit. He would cut a deal with Pence for a Pardon ala Ford/Nixon.

I've been one of the earliest proponents of a Donald J Trump Presidency who has kept or is trying to keep all his campaign promises he made to me and his other followers. If he were to get impeached, there'd be lots of anarchy in the streets.

Donald J. Trump has abolished many non-sense business regulations that had kept the economy from growing; also, his corporate tax cuts enacted by Congress have made America very prosperous with record levels of employment, reduced poverty, and significant wage increases. Trump's public service has helped many Americans who don't want Trump impeached.

No. Because there is ZERO evidence of any impeachable offense.

If Trump were to be removed from office, I'd indeed be there with my follow Trump supporters rioting in the streets. I've read the Anarchist Cookbook, so I'd know how to be an anarchist.

Wrong. The evidence does not rise to the level of impeachment yet. But there are multiple investigations starting in the House now and others running. Does Trump’s Involvement in the Cohen Payments Constitute an Impeachable Offense? has a fascinating article on what might be an impeachable offense including this:

George Mason’s comment during the Constitutional Convention that a president "who has practised corruption & by that means procured his appointment in the first instance” might properly be impeached.

If Trump were to be removed from office, I'd indeed be there with my follow Trump supporters rioting in the streets.

Then I would expect you all to be arrested, thrown into the slammer and prosecuted to the full extent of the law for violent actions.

There's not enough jail cells to imprison all us Trump supporters who'd protest his removal from power. Also, according to the Anarchist Handbook, there are untraceable methods to perpetrate anarchy.

Are you claiming that the law means nothing to Trump supporters? I tend to have a low opinion of them, but I do not smear them with the brush that you are .
