Free electricity by dielectric compression !

A dielectric material produces a small amount of electricity when in motion or under pressure . Copper is said to have a dielectric constant of 1 and at its highest , infinite .

Now in theory and principle according to the law of physics , if we were to submerge a very long copper rod into a deep ocean , the oceans pressure at great depths would indeed cause the copper to become compressed by the oceans pressure , in affect tapering the end of the rod . The effect of this in a dielectric material should be the creation of electricity . The flow of energy will then traverse the rod to the surface by the laws of thermodynamics and high state energy is attracted to lower state energy . Now I'm not a mathematician and would have no idea of the dimensions needed of the rod but the idea is now here to work with . Additionally I will drop in a new solar panel design later on that is more shape efficient .

Not all materials are piezoelectric. Copper does not appear to be one of them. And even if it was the electricity generated is not free. When a piezoelectric object is compressed it develops a potential. If one allows electricity to flow from that potential one gets only one short burst. That is due to the work of compression.

Perhaps you should study up on the Second Law of Thermodynamics as well.

You are correct , I did mix up my electrics . I did mean piezoelectrics , my mind was elsewhere .

Why wouldn't it work ?

As for constant , depth pressure is constant and will create a constant stress which will contract the rod . The kinetic energy will be constant , the atoms with become excited and gain heat and charge . This charge will traverse to the lower state energy of the rod , heading ''upwards'' where there is less pressure and the lowering state of energy .

If not a copper rod , what would be a better material ?

I explained to you.

First copper is not piezoelectric.

Second, even if you lower a piezoelectric material into the ocean you only get one short burst of electricity when you do so. Then when you lift it out you get one short burst back. Piezoelectricity is not a constant flow. You are doing work lowering and lifting that object. The electricity is far from "free".

Also, how long would it take to re-coop the cost in material, energy, and manpower to activate one of these rods?

Good point. But even if they were free it would still take massive amounts of energy to make electricity using piezoelectric materials.

It's only a question of whether the kE is enough to cause an electron/proton party that produces electrical current .

Sea salt will also be attracted to the rod as it curves space time , salt is an electrolyte and conductive .

Maybe we should do solar panel design instead , much easier :)

The title of the thread is just before made this thread I mentioned in private chat about dielectrics .

Of course I know what I am talking about , self taught or not !

I am a scientist self proclaimed , like it or not !

You know I've answered what is gravity and what is light and several other things !

I also understand anti-gravity quite well and space propulsion .

I know lots of stuff and design ideas , admitting some may not be practical but I know for fact that some are practical .

Sorry, you cannot call yourself a scientist if you do not follow the scientific method.
