According to my understanding of the Bible, believers are judged in this life, so judgement day isn't for them. Judgement day is also not for the unbelievers because they are, like Christians, judged in this lifetime. Judgement day is a period of time when the unrighteous are resurrected in order to present them, having not been introduced to the good news of the kingdom, to then make an informed decision. But what if you, an unbeliever, was resurrected to judgement day and it was obvious that God did exist. Would you change your position?

Unless I was forced, no. If I were able, I'd probably look him in the eyes and say "I rather die knowing that I followed my heart than live in heaven knowing that I lied to myself."

I think it would depend a lot on the circumstance. What sort of God what sort of judgment. For example if part of the Judgment was that I had gay friends and didn't discourage them from being gay and that's bad because I said so, I would tell that God to **** right the hell off.
I would like to say that I'm the kind of person who wouldn't change my values to save my skin. That would be too totalitarian for my liking and besides would feel like disingenuous lip service anyway.

Judgement day would require a god. No god, no judgement day. The poll didn't give that option so no vote from me

However if the world was coming to an end for some reason and we knew, what could anyone do other than be with and try to comfort family friends. I most certainly would not be blaming a myth.

No. Who wants to live a life of eternity with the righteous?

The Hebrew and Greek words translated as righteousness convey the thought of "uprightness," "rectitude," and is also translated "justice." Are you not righteous? In the Mosaic Law, for example, at Leviticus 19:36 the Hebrew word is used four times in connection with business transactions. Having an accurate, or "just" scale, weights, measurements. Are you not righteous?

You would not be forced. How, though, would you have to lie to yourself, or not follow your heart?

being fair and honest requires one to believe in the Biblical God?

According to the Bible judgement day is a 1,000 year period where those who hadn't had the opportunity to become well antiquated with the Bible, i.e. God's Word, Jesus and his ransom sacrifice, were allowed to learn. Then Satan, who will have been imprisoned for that time is released and allowed to present his side of things. Those following Satan follow him to his destruction, those rejecting Satan live forever in paradise on earth.

It's possible you would learn of God's position on homosexuality and other things more than possible in this life or world or system. In this way those are much more fortunate than we are. But this is a hypothetical. You and I and everyone here are already judged. Of course, we could change our position before we die.

I don't quite understand, Christine. Isn't God implicit in the case of judgement? God isn't really a part of it in the sense that we are. We judge ourselves.

How could I phrase an option that you would vote for?

No god so how can god be implicit?
Judgement for belief in god.

I really dont know how you could compile a question, its sort of an irrelevant non question to me.

It's an ultimatum. When you aren't forced or are coerced, there is no heaven and hell. Your choice is full acknowledge without judgement at all. No heaven. You die. Love has no reservations.

My heart is not for god. So, if I were forced or given an ultimatum to believe or be judged, I rather follow my heart in what I believe now than switch belief to god only because I want to go to heaven.

If by some strange twist of the impossible, it turns out the immoral bible-god is real, and there is this sadistic "judgement day"?

I have thought about that enough, to have a speech ready.

But first? I'll see if this monster god is willing to apologize for being as described.

And I will listen to see what sort of excuses he may have had, for being so inept, evil and monstrous, all through history.

If the excuse is good enough? I may.... may consider accepting his apology. and/or excuse(s), if both are good enough.

But I won't forgive it. Neither will I worship it, nor bow a knee to it. The bible's god is absolutely unworthy of such actions.

And if this gets me blasted into oblivion? Well-- that would simply prove my original description: Monstrous, immoral and sadistic. And I'd be better off than having to spend any additional time in front of this beast.

This is the thing that puzzles me. Many say they believe in God. They say that and it's fine, but the demons know and yet shudder. It begs the question what does it mean to believe in God? Jesus gave an illustration that the religious couldn't get but the children could. A father gives commands to two of his sons, one says he won't follow the commands but he does, the other says he will follow them but he doesn't. Which did the will of his father?

Atheists have this independent sort of perspective that presents God as a childish narcissistic ego maniac who gets something out of people worshiping him. It's not for his benefit.

And there it is!

Once again you Christians don't even know your own mythology.

You always pick and choose, or had the "picking and choosing" done by some church leader, to pick out all the things you want to see, while ignoring all the "fine print" of things you don't want to see.

Well here, let me educate you on your own mythology:

1 Peter 1:17

King James Version (KJV)

17 And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:

**************

Revelation 20:12-13

King James Version (KJV)

12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

Get real!

The Christian mythology is ALL about pleasing an over the top narcissistic evil maniac of a "god" who will stop at nothing to have his creations worship him. That's the very heart of the entire Christian mythology.

You wouldent first want to ask this God why he sees it different then you? Under this scenario from the OP, would not God, the maker of the entire universe be in a position to know something more then you?

Maybe, maybe not.
