Hey guys, I was looking around for a place where I can explore my drive to have compelling conversation with different people. So I guess its time to get started.

Right now I am exploring different epistemologies. I know solipsists, flat earthers and even one person who doesn't believe corn specifically is real. Im not looking to break down beliefs, but rather how they got to them. Though I disagree with them, I think it's important to understand them. Is there something there you would be interested in engaging with me about?

Ugh but atheists are the least fun people, we don’t want to talk to them. :D

Welcome. I just started a day ago and I’ve had a blast. But you have to watch out for revolt he’s a hairy one to deal with.

well maybe. what would you say your own moral bedrock is? there are a lot of discussions around here about whether morality can be objective or not. I think that the moral relativist has an unbeatable stance from a debate perspective, but relativism doesn't do anything for me. so my approach is to build my morality from a set of core values.

anything along those lines worth discussing?

Oh ya, My friends make it very clear that me and my other very atheistic friend are hard to handle  But hopefully we can all have fun either way.

I love to talk morality. To give you the short version, I use the very basic label that most totally non religious people I know personally use which is "secular humanist" to address morality.

More specifically of what that means to me is that I will do what I believe to be best not only for myself, but for others. I look at actions in relation to their intent. Goal plus action equals whether it is right or wrong. Almost to say that I am utilitarian to a specific degree. I don't look at what is best for the whole at the time, but rather what is best for the whole over an extended period of time with all points of view considered.

This comes from my own personal experiences and desires to help others over myself, though I am aware how often selfless ideas end up not being as selfless as one intends when they have to make that decision practically.

What about yourself? Is there a specific tenant to which you base your morality on?

Great to see you here, always like a chat and the youth of this world are our future.

The youth will power this world with new thought, new ideas and a new zeal to find the oneness of all humanity.

All the best from one that has long gone past youth. Regards Tony

Thank you for the welcome.

I genuinely don't think many in my generation are hungry for the kind of information that some who are older may have. I'm the president of a chapter of the Secular Student Alliance and went to a meeting with a community group where I was the youngest by 20 years. We spent much of the time talking about how to get young people involved in these conversations.

If you have any wisdom on encouraging multi-generational conversation, I would love to hear it.

I'm having great fun when I am gnawing on the arm of a theist. What would Baby Eating Day be like without theists? Think of the kittens!

The Initiative is the Youth Empowerment Program. With this the Youth are encouraged to find and reach their own potential and in turn they teach this to children. The Older generation act as mentors for the youth and assist them as required. Youth in the Baha'i Faith is 15 to 30 years. Junior youth are 11 to 15.

The idea is to harness ones spiritual capacity to assist personal growth, ones direction in life, build ones learning capacity and learning and to build vibrant and loving communities.

To give you and idea, this is the Australian site.

Role of youth - Australian Baha'i Community
