Rosicrucian mystery school

Riders

Well-Known Member
Yea there's one in Dallas. I have though about going here for sometime. I'm putting this up here to see if anyone has a criticism and or debate for me.

Its mostly the old mystery schools from the past Greek Roman, probably Jewish and there is definite Egyptian study in it.
When I was in the Pagan style Unitarian Universal church I went through several stages of different Pagan beliefs I was in interested in mainly Celtic and Heathen, Heathen being the big one because my dads side of the family.

But I broke away from that, however I still have a belief in nature. When I meditate I become one with nature.
But the one Pagan group from the past I could not get out of my mind was Egypt. Love the pyramids the art music, stuff that came from Egypt.

Yes I realize they had slaves and Christians claim the Jewish exodus is true . However all religions were war like and ignorant back in the day but I know they meditation techniques and some of the mystery school philosophy is good and right,

So and its beautiful they do have a self improvement mentality and I believe the inner God self, new age. It ought to be good.

So does anyone have any debate, criticism of the Rosicrucian order? Here's a short video on it looks awesome. I'm gonna try to go this month.

I've read all the classic Rosicrucian texts, they're born out of Hermetic and Kabbalistic thought. The original Esoteric Order/mystery school had an impressive structure from what I remember, it also has connects with Freemasonry (historically) and the Golden Dawn. Like both those other initiatory orders, it takes claim to history further back than it's known inception (Christian Rosenkreutz). Rosicrucian teachings are quite syncretic and incorporate an overarching knowledge from all major world religions but are Christian-based (sort of like initial Freemasonry).
It's best to avoid most so-called "Orders" claiming to be Rosicrucian, because some of them are just that - New Age distortions (like AMORC). There is one Order that is legitimate but I can't remember what it was called.
There is someone that I know who is an initiate who I may ask about it, he knows more specific things than I do.
Proper Rosicrucianism is not self-help stuff, nor is it "New Thought" or "New Age".

I will look into it. Thats interesting though. i am a new ager myself. They claim to have much of their thought from Egypt but then again the Free Masons have taken some of their stuff from Egypt too, so it makes sense.I think they take traditions from several old mystery schools and also claim Greek Philosophy.

I like the music and the idea of being in a different tradition then what ive been use too. Its comforting to think of the old religious traditions from the past.

Well, here's my limited input with them.

I've had a very spiritual existence, starting when just a very little child. So at one time I was trying to find out if other religions or spiritual teaching described any of the spiritual experiences I had. So I joined the Rosicrucian Order but quickly gave up because of their references to the jesus myth/Christianity.

As the way I see it, if they have even some false teachings, that corrupts anything they had to offer. It's like dealing with a liar. There is no way to tell what are their lies, or what are the few truths tucked in among all the lies.

There was also some references to "rituals", which all rituals are bogus. They have nothing to do with true spirituality and are just a placebo.

There seems to be a branch of a bunch of groups calling themselves some kind of Rosicrucian school in just about every big city in the developed world. From the outside, I couldn't tell much of a difference between any of them.

Doesn't your religion also have rituals? Or are you saying that just these AMORC guys have bogus rituals.

I read a book about them in the past. The book went into all there practices. Mostly it goes into gaining spiritual KNOWLEDGE (verses faith). Alot of meditative techniques geared toward giving you spiritual experiences. The experiences are your knowledge. I think its good.

Even if everything is not agreed on, still there a mystery religion that has been around for a long time and are well organized and do teach you things and there would also be that sense of belonging too.

They claim to be mystical spiritual and also claim Egyptian mystery beliefs are you saying they claim Jesus as God?

Hmm...

That was a long time ago, so I don't remember if they actually called Jesus "god", all that I remember is that Jesus was brought up in a lot of their general writings and lessons. Plus there was a lot of other Christian references.

And now that you got me thinking about it, I don't recall anything about any Egyptian beliefs references.

if its a mystery school it was probabbly mystical Christian Gnostic Christian literature.

I hardly keep up with all the different religious groups and subgroups. I'm just letting you know what I remember and why I didn't like it. To me the many references to Jesus and the Christian mythology made it suspect. Like it was incorporating such references to attract people familiar with it.

But that's up to you if you find or don't find some aspects of Christianity in it's teachings objectionable.

So long as it's not a creepy cult that you get trapped into and never get out, then if you don't like it, you can always quit, I hope.

Well I don't know. I like my Zen group well and may just stick with it.

I seem to be getting this confusion a lot on this forum.

First off, I do not belong to any religion.

And there are two important distinctions one needs to keep in mind when on religious forums.

Religions are entirely man made mythologies invented by self serving men who only want political power, control over people, and people's $$$$. So they make up some spiritually void mythology because they are spiritually clueless, so have nothing but mythology to offer. All a placebo.

Whereas spiritual teachings are mostly started by people with varying degrees of at least SOME real spiritual understandings. And they have various ways of presenting this spiritual understand.

If you have a laptop or desktop PC it shouldn't be too difficult to search around for different spiritual teachings if you're looking for something in particular. If all you have is a phone, it might make the search tedious, but still doable.

I wish you all the best on your spiritual path!

Thanks Ive been to the zen group though they are cool. I will most likely settle with them.

From my past research on the rosecrusians there statement is that when it comes to "beliefs" you mentally assent to, you are free to believe whatever you want, even if it disagrees with the order or individuals in the order.

Its all about helping one gain knowledge through experience.

However, that aside, from the book i read, atleast from that author, Jesus was the Son of God, and yahwah (God) is one God out of many. This God has a kingdom, which, there is many kingdoms amongs many Gods within the spirit realm.

There is a ultimate source for all these Gods, kingdoms and of course the entire universe.

This is based on my research.

You had the "twelver" in your religion field, so I assumed it was your religion and had the prayers and such.

I think both religions and spiritual teaching start from mystics who are then interpreted wrong, maybe even they themselves interpret it wrong. It then becomes lost and hijacked. Of course there are religions and spiritual teachings that never had any point to them in the first place, except power or delusion that is spread or kept in power by force.

Not sure what you mean by 'twelver", as I only see "none" in my profile for "religion".

Well, I gave you my distinction between the two, but if you want to hold to the mainstream lumping them both together, ok.

But from my already defined viewpoint on the two, if you take out the word "religion" from your first sentence, I would agree to your first statement.

And yes, SOME religions and spiritual teachings are as you stated in the last part of your post.

BUT there is still more to be learned from many of the moderate to excellent spiritual teachings, and nothing worth while at all from ANY of the religions.
