Democrat Candidates for 2020 POTUS

I thought it would be fun and interesting to start a thread to discuss/debate Democrat candidates who have, so far, officially announced a 2020 Presidential run. Let's try not to bring up the candidates who will inevitably run (like Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Cory Booker, etc.) We can add them as they officially announce.

So far I only know of three. Here they are:

John Delaney https://www.johnkdelaney.com/

Andrew Yang

Richard Ojeda

Here is the official page on how to become a candidate for president:
Registering as a candidate - FEC.gov

I am unable to obtain a list (accessible easily online publicly) of names of people filing to run for president.

I am able to find an online list of federal disclosure offices. Including the email address of the FEC. Its [email protected]

FEC Combined Federal/State Disclosure & Election Directory: FEDERAL DISCLOSURE OFFICES

Someone could write to them or email them. Beyond that consider asking a librarian or an election official who might know of an official record.

Bernie's back?
https://www.usnews.com/news/the-run...-the-hurdles-to-recapturing-the-magic-in-2020
Now, as he inches toward another bid in the coming months – the 77-year-old said he'll "probably run" if he determines himself to be the best candidate to defeat President Donald Trump – Sanders begins a potential race in a dramatically different position than he was for his 2016 pursuit.

Then, he was dismissed as a hopeless gadfly. Now, he's a proven vote-getter and the unofficial leader of the left. Then, his avowed socialism looked like a fringe ideology. Now many of his positions have been adopted by his would-be rivals. Then, he began the primary race polling in single digits. Now, nearly every poll shows him vying for front-runner status with former Vice President Joe Biden.

But along with those tangible advantages of having run before comes the other end of the sharp double-edged sword.

In 2020, Sanders would no longer be the stated underdog. Without the element of surprise, it will be difficult for him to morph into the insurgent. Because his candidacy would immediately be taken seriously, it would instantly earn far more scrutiny than it did last go-round.

Can you picture a one on one debate between Trump and Ojeda? Let’s see Trump call this guy names.
Notice that Trump mispronounced his name to try and make it sound like he's Latino in that video?

That Ojeda guy sounds good. He reminds me of Sherrod Brown, who is from my state and is apparently considering running for President. I'd happily vote for either of them. Both are anti-elitist working class types that I think are the future of the Democractic Party. Ojeda is an Army vet so the Trumpers can't paint him as some pinko commie hippie type who hates America. They might be able to get the white working class and white men to vote Democratic, too.

Get out the popcorn.
But the last thing I want to do is listen for the next year and a half.

I think Ojeda is going to make a large and loud splash. One think I think will end up hurting him in the end though will be his "tough guy, tell it like it is, kick @ss and take names" approach. Again though, I do think he will make it pretty far.

Why would that hurt him? It didn't hurt Trump. Obviously there's a large audience for that. Working class people like that sort of attitude.

I could be wrong on this, but here it goes anyways...

As well as voters voting for a candidate that will push issues they need they will also be voting for a candidate who they feel can beat Trump. And Ojeda already said that the only way to beat Trump is to "fight" him. And that is where Trump shines and I think would eventually win. Those two would turn it into a penis size contest with virtually no policies being debated.

But you are not wrong when you say there is a large audience for that.

I said what I said about the idea of Trump debating Ojeta in November.

But now I just can’t imagine Trump getting on a debate stage with anyone. Does anyone really believe Donald Trump will show up and answer questions about everything we have learned in the last two years?

I want to see a national debate with three debate monitors.
1. Megyn Kelly
2. Jim Acosta
and
3. Robert Mueller

That's a good point.

That's a good point.
He's a strong contender that I really feel will be underestimated. I'm on board with almost all of his policies, he does need to distance himself even further from coal. As now, I'd vote for him over the likes of (even though these haven't announced yet) Biden, Beto, Booker, and Harris. But only from who has officially announced, my vote is tied with Ojeda and Warren. But I'm still waiting for my "hopefuls".

Pocahontas? I hope she’s demolished in the primaries. Joe Biden, where are you?!?!
I was wondering how long it would be before someone popped up with an infantile comment. Rather than address ideas it is easier to regress to kindergarten type name calling.
