Do Voters Share the Blame for Trump?

youknowme

Whatever you want me to be.
Trump is clearly way below par for what we should want out of a US President. Someone like him should never be put into the office of the President, but yet it happened. So did the system fail us? Did the voters fail? What do you think and why? And how do we prevent something like this from happening again?

If you want a moral leadership, go to Church.

With Obama having served two years and HRC a candidate for POTUS, though she isn't able to pass the background for highest security clearance in order to enter the office, one wonders where the bar was in the first place.

Voters share in the success of over 2 years of Trump keeping his promises. The biggest surprise was Trump did what other presidents promised solely for the votes; moved the U.S embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.
After U.S embassy move to Jerusalem more countries follow its lead - May 2018

I think what we Republican Trump voters may not realize is when we read the ravenous broken record, beating dead horses, whine Liberals make over two years after a free election put the peoples choice in office is, those critics are telling us they prefer the other one.

Think back to what HRC was at the time she hoped to get your country. When she had betrayed it to the fullest , and our people, when she was entrusted to lesser offices of power.
And for women voters, you can't really want HRC if you are truly a feminist. Because HRC is not one. She's a fake feminist because claiming to be feminist gets her Liberal Feminist's votes.

She's a capitalist, a narcissist, a wino, as she admits in her book where she blames everyone but herself for losing the election, and interestingly doesn't blame Trump either. And she's a misanthrope.

As is commonly pointed out by Trump supporters, the USA doesn't elect the president. POTUS is appointed by the governments of states.
Many state governments have opted for democracy, but so far, not enough to change the current system.

I believe that the lack of democratic process in the presidential elections has a lot to do with the USA's apathetic and ill informed electorate.

I did refer to Trump so I am on topic. Were I to remain on topic as you prefer I'd have to dis Trump by regurgitating the falsehoods the Left promulgate against him.
That won't happen.
If the Left can't live with the truth of Trump's success in the WH that's their problem. For another two years. And then four more.
Six years is a long time to sustain hate.
Hate actually alters the body chemistry and toxifies the body itself.
Leftists don't know Trump personally. They do personally suffer for sustained hate of the man.

That seems fair.

Surely Trump's supporters ought to accept their share of responsibility for putting him on power.

The implications are frightening, but no less unavoidable for that.

Trump is clearly way below par for what we should want out of a US President. Someone like him should never be put into the office of the President, but yet it happened. So did the system fail us?
Clearly.

Did the voters fail?
Definitely. Such a person has no business even making it to the list of twenty or so candidates for the Republican Party.

What do you think and why? And how do we prevent something like this from happening again?

By learning a bit from the Scandinavian countries, mainly on the fields of voter responsibility, fact checking, and the dangers of authoritarianism.

On a street level, citizens must change their own attitude and make it clear that they can't and won't stand for such abuse any more. Trump and his ilk are ultimately a manifestation of hidden dreams of fascism that must be eradicated.

You do realize there is a difference between "moral leadership" and moral leaders, right? Because it seems to me that you may be confusing the two.

My point is that politics isn't about morality -it's about sustaining success and well being for citizens.

...But those who dislike Trump do so, I believe, because they view politics through a different lens... they seem to want politics engulfed in morality, or for the non-believer, "values".

It shows your motives for publishing this thread isn't to get at nor sustain truth.

Donald J. Trump was elected to the office of POTUS in a free Democratic election held within this Constitutional Democratic Republic.

You'll live with that for another two years. Falsehoods don't change reality for anyone else but the author of the lies. An those then destroy the authors credibility.
So really, there is no positive in trash talking Trump. He was elected, he serves, he's done very well as POTUS, and he has another two years to go.
And he doesn't care that you hate him.

The only one your hate harms is you.
And this thread is your invitation to others so that you're not alone in the party.
You want others to stay on topic because this thread is expressly about Trump? A slander fest.

Truth, not allowed.
That's just sustaining what the Left has already demonstrated of itself. You're a follower.

Trump was elected by people sick of politicians that stupidly said, "lets give oligarch billionaires a chance". What they didn't realize is right wing politics were already run by oligarch billionaires buying politicians, cutting out the middle man, the politician, hardly helped the process, it just made tyranny more direct!!

Yes we have an Electoral College and yes Hillary Clinton won the popular vote, but still voters in a few states did indeed put the current disastrous regime in power.

Why people vote the way they do is a very complex topic. Many vote in the way their parents voted. Many vote against their own self interest. Many are taken in by promises. Many vote against the other candidate. Many vote for destruction and many vote for making things better.

I agree that Trump is the legal president; however, that is not really what I am asking here in this thread.
