Jai Shri KRshNa Jai Shri Hari

Jab Govind ke guNa gAoge tab Bhagavad man ko bhAoge

When you sing the glories of Govind (KRshNa, Hari, VishNu),
You will please the Supreme Brahman'
When you let Hari into your heart
You will never suffer the blows of this world...

My Dearest Govind, My Dearest Govind ~ , Govind Govind Govind Govind

One who chants the Holy Name of Shri RAma
Will easily cross the ocean of niessance
When you love Hari the most, when your greatest attachment is Shri Hari
You will make your life successful

One who chants the Holy Name of RAma day and night
Breaks the stiffling prison-chord around their neck
When you align your existence with Hari
You will destroy all sins from time eternal

My Dearest Govind, My Dearest Govind, Govind Govind Govind Govind

One whom Shri Hari protects
Does not suffer the three hardships (3 taap - 3 types of sorrows from : Adhibhautik - natural surroundings, adhidaivik -- destiny, Divine, one's karma , adhyAtmic - internal , emotional, mental )
When you meditate on, contemplate, think about Parameshwar, the Highest God
You will get all bliss and hapiness

-- So says Teuram Maharaj of Jaipur

My Dearest Govind, My Dearest Govind, Govind Govind Govind Govind ...

That is wonderful ameyAtmA: my experience is also of Govind as God in the material aspects of living to be worshipped and paid reverence to in bhajans and nama/puja. And in the absolute reality it is also Sri Krishna through whom one is God (Govind I believe is another name for Sri Krishna).

NArAyaNam Bhaje
divyAmbaradharam (shelters the vast divine sky), pankajalochanam (Lotus-Eyed), bhakta-sankatamochanam, (destroyer of dangers and obstacles in the life of devotees)' karuNAnidhim, (station of compassion), bhavyasharaNAgatanidhi (grand abode of peace for those who take His shelter), rakshi ta-jagatrayam (protector of all 3 worlds), adnyananashakam (destroyer of ignorance of spiritual nature), shuddha-vidnyana-bhAshakam (always utters words full of pure spiritual knowledge -- of the Self)

Shri KRshNa Bhajan
(Govinda is a name given to KRshNa by Indra when He lifted the Goverdhan mountain to protect residents from Indra's storm, and break Indra's pride. Govinda = One who gives blissful peace to cows (go) , or the senses (go)
anAtha-nAthA = Protector of the orphans
dIna-bandhu = Friend (brother) of the meek, weak, or humble, shy, or those who lack something material yet maintain humility)

So, I gotta learn 'em and sing 'em myself. Which do you think would be easiest to learn?

You have given me a very challenging task.

1. Just a repeat chant like Jai Jai Raam KRshNa Hari (Bhimsen Joshi)

2. Sing the Hare Krishna Mahamantra in your favorite tune (Loknath Swami - start listening @13:50 - before that is a Bengali intro bhajan)

3. Om Namah: Shivay (2) Hara Hara Bhole Namah: ShivAy
GangadharAya, JaTAdharAya, DigambarAya, RAmeshwarAya, SomeshwarAya, --- you can add NAgeshwarAya, OmkAreshwarAya, VishweshwarAya, AmarnAthAya....

3. Simple short bhajans that has only 4 lines repeated (Art of Living bhajans)

(i) He Nandananda GopAlA Anandananda GopAlA [Yadunandananda GopAlA, Mukunda Krishna GovindA Muralidhara Hari GopAlA]

(ii) KRshNam vande ParamAnandaM vande-aham [
MuralidharA KRshNa tulasidharA,
he GiridhAri vanamAli
YamunA teera vihAri Hari
KRshNam vande paramAnandam vande aham
KRshNam vande paramAnandam vande

4. Learn Om Jai Jagadeesha Hare (Aarati - will post lyrics in DIR later) OR Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram

Just wanted to keep the AOL bhajans post at the Oasis.

I just learned today that Rushi Nityapragya, the director of Art of Living, an AOL Guru and melodious bhajan singer, passed away end of December, and the ParamAtmA antaryAmi unknowingly made me discuss and post his bhajans among others just the other day.

A few yrs ago I was thinking of a person, and thought I should make a far away trip in June to their ashram (irrational idea) , and 5 months later I found out that person had passed away in June.
