Currently playing the heck out of Fallout 76. Having a blast, in spite of the predictable bugginess of the game. The game is getting obnoxiously overblown negative reviews. Ignore them. The problem with having a successful franchise is you build up a fanbase that brings all sorts of expectations to any new title. The most hardcore then scream their collective faces off when the game inevitably fails to conform to their particular set of expectations. Don't get me wrong - the game has it's problems. But for the most part, the reviews I've read fail to actually distinguish the games legitimate problems from the reviewer's personal desires about what the game should be.

Best thing I'd name about this game so far? The moments you have when wandering around and exploring have a visceral feel to them that no other game in the franchise has. That's because the game is real-time. If you are wandering down an abandoned railroad track on your way to your destination and spot a horde of feral ghouls on the cliff above you, there is no "oh crap, I'd better pause the game and prepare for this" and certainly no "oh crap, I don't want to deal with this - time to reload." You just have to deal with it. And that's amazing. So many fun and amazing chance encounters. So many stories get woven in this dynamic world they've crafted - both with and without other players.
Kinda how they trashed Doom 2016? because most of the reviewers were either too young to have played how to play the original Doom, which the latest iteration is based off of. The mechanics of original Doom and Doom 2016 is that if you stay still you will die, the closer to death you become, the better the outcome will be, the better the drops from enemies, the more frantic it gets, no need for shift when it is on perma run either, no health regeneration, no reloading, none of that bullcrap that slows down gameplay. there is but a single setting on Doom 2016 and that is ludicrous speed.

Man, doesn't that drag?!

I put it down for a few weeks due to work. Picked it up the other night to play (had a spare hour)
Boom.
Mega-patch.
It's awful when they hit you with those patches. Thankfully, I'm getting this one included with the install, which is already the biggest install I've ever had for a game. But I'll be smacked with one in the future. Lol

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
Finally a proper Grand strategy has come to consoles. Playing Stellaris and loving it.

Also finally saved up enough for VR.

I enjoy playing a good game of chess with death in Pure Chess.

Having a blast racing in Driveclub VR.

The VR Missions in Ace combat 7 absolutely takes my breath away.

Although there are no tactile Sensations you actually can get lost to the point where you were actually believing that you're in a cockpit for real. Call of Duty infinite Warfare VR was short but so immersive in space combat.

Battling away in Bravo Squad and Battlezone VR. Borderlands VR and Skyrim VR. WOW is an understatement.

It's a whole new world when you play a game in stereoscopic view as opposed to playing on a monitor. It's like I just climbed into my retro stereoscopic Viewmaster and can freely walk around inside.

Wanted to play Quar infernal machines VR but I can't find it anywhere in North America but it seems to been released already in Europe. I have a feeling we're never going to see it over here.

Having a NES, SNES, and Genesis classic what I play anymore tends to be on those. Star Fox 2 I thought was terribly disappointing and felt like a step backwards from the original SNES Star Fox. A Link to the Past I intended to do a minimalist run but it turned into a 100% run. And although anytime I play the GBA version of Shining Force I will tell myself the Genesis version would have severely punished me for a mistake, I kept making these mistakes on the Genesis version anyways and had to face that. I also tried this thing of delaying character promotions until level 20, but I'm stuck having to grind levels now because I'm close to the end of the game and my characters are too low level to beat the game. I don't know why anyone would do that....it's very much a strategy game and if your getting beat you probably need a better strategy rather than more levels (unless you wait longer than is necessary to promote characters).

I finished again a couple of days ago my favourite Half Life 2, I think that it's still one of the best games which have been ever released :) Plot, graphics, quests, everything is amazing in it in my opinion and I still hope that someday in future they will release the third episode finally.
Among other games I really liked Prey, Serious Sam, GTA series, Alien Isolation and Portal too. I like some online ones, especially Cabal Online and World of Tanks. And I like online gambling, especially different card games, sport bettings 777score.co.uk and casino.
I'm also planning to try Skyrim for the first time too.

I got Battlefield 1 and Battlefield 5 as part of a bundle. WW1 has never really been explored in an AAA game before, and it's great.

Thanks for the advice, I'll look through the patches.
Definitely get the official patches and community patches. Nexusmods.com is a pretty good site for patches and plugins (and for several games). There are also graphic enhancements and re texturing packs, and I'm fond of the immersive plugins such as realistic lighting, blood, nature sounds, and add in more immersive weapons and armor (cloaks look so normal and natural in the game I'm disappointed Bethesda has never included them by default). There are also race plugins, plugins that turn Tamrial into other worlds (such as Hyrule), and adding other non-lore appropriate elements to the game, but I really don't care them myself.
But the game is rather buggy and glitchy, so again definitely official and community patches (dead dragons might randomly drop out of the sky if you don't).

Looking over some things and forums of Metroid from the NES, even though we had fun playing those extremely difficult games, were able to beat them, and often complain about games today being too easy and having too much hand holding to get you through them, younger gamers describe them as "bull**** difficult" with "bad designs." Myself, I miss games when you could actually die and had to start over and had to learn things like "boss patterns" and actually find items instead of being shown where they are.
