Where Did the Votes for Senate Go in Broward County, Florida?

Maybe huge numbers of Democratic voters suddenly decided the Senate race was not that importanto_O

Sounds very likely! Especially since the same voters thought the commissioner of agriculture race was absolutely fascinating and voted in it. Obviously, that was the race that gripped people's interest.

Questions? Comments?

Why is it always Florida where these things happen? I remember that whole "hanging chad" fiasco in 2000. Now they're saying there might be something wrong with the machines or some kind of "calibration issue."

I think they should just go back to counting ballots by hand.

Not just Florida. The same county in Florida. Broward was in the spotlight back then, too.

Actually I just looked at my twitter feed and saw this

Gov. Rick Scott & the NRSC are filing a public records lawsuit against Broward election supervisor Brenda Snipes for failing to provide them with information about outstanding ballots that have yet to be tabulated The lawsuit comes as Scott’s margins are shrinking v. Sen Nelson

Both the governor's and the senate races could be up for recounts. Florida would probably still go Republican for both offices, but then again, maybe not.

I guess those refurbished pinball machines just ain't working. Also all the instructions were in Chinese.

I mean you can't blame them, these things happen. Just like the last couple of times. I think they just hit it too hard to get the ball where they wanted it to go and it tilted. Plus they ran out of quarters.

If they find those votes it could be enough to change that race at least. It won't flip the Senate, but if something breaks on Trump every vote could count.

I also saw this on twitter:

Overall, though, we've gone from what looked like what looked like about D +33 House and R +3-4 Senate late Tuesday night to what now could wind up more like D +36-40 House and R +1-2 Senate. Probably enough to merit a reassessment.

Broward county elections are apparently full of nonsense, and the show is being run by an incompetent who has violated state and federal law multiple times already.

I remember that the ballots that gave them so much trouble were made under a commissioner in the Democratic Party. Who was in charge this time?

Republicans are just as bad as Democrats in every possible way. If you think otherwise you are delusional.

I didn't even imply that. It was a bit ironic that the Democrats were in control of an election that ended up going badly for them. Perhaps this time a Republican was in control and it will not go well for them. Al Gore led early and here the Republican is leading early. It would be a nice turnabout if that was the case this time.

It is still Democrats. The commissioner [edit: I left up the term commissioner, but that is not the proper title, 'supervisor of elections' is] has previously opened ballots early, destroyed ballots during a period that was still open to challenge and recount, and this time around refused to announce how many ballots were received as she has constantly added to the total over the past two days.

Oh, and there are reports that there was a provisional ballot box left at a polling station that may have had votes in it, which would now be invalid as the chain of custody has been broken.

What a **** show.
