What Symbol Do You Identify With?

Many religions or belief structures have various symbols they use in their faith. For example, Christianity has the cross, the fish, the 5 pointed star, etc.

What symbol from your faith (or lack thereof) do you most closely identify with? Why? What does the symbol represent?

Do you wear said symbol on your person as either jewelry or a tattoo? Why?

And please, feel free to post a picture of the symbol in this thread.

I'd post a pic, by my worldview has no symbol.

I wear a pentacle since my mother wears one when she was young. I think someone gave it to her or something. She said she wanted to die with it on, so I wear mine on my pinky just as she does hers.

There is a Buddhist symbol but I dont know about Indian Cosmology to derive meaning from it beyond the definitions online.

I resonate with the symbol of Yin/Yang. It pretty much encompasses everything in this life.

The other one is a dreamcatcher which doesn't apply to the real world I live in as it's not really mine to keep, yet stays with me throughout the world of my imagination and dreams.

I treasure both until the day comes I have to let it all go.

What is it and what significance does it have for you?
It's a Tamil Aum. It symbolises the Tamil version of Hinduism. For aratis at pujas, we'll draw it in flame for the final portion of arati. For me personally, it's just inspiring, with it's mystical beckon. Many Tamil temples will have one on a flag, or all lit up outside. I have a hand-carved wooden one on top of my personal kavadi frame.

Two, but the question is biased towards abstraction. The first one can be abstracted into art, the second cant easily be photographed. But if the first one is abstracted into art, what it is, is avoided and not seen. If the second one is photgraphed it may not be as "pretty" to our sensibilities. The christian cross dead jesus on it is an interesting symbolism in this regard.

As you know, my symbol if clear in my avatara. Another popular symbol is 'Om" in Hinduism, but I do not use it because I do not find it in RigVeda Samhita. But my Swastika is not a Nazi Swastika, it is in pleasing color - red. It has four beautiful dots within its arms, and it is never left handed. As you know, Swastika in Hinduism denotes welfare. Any tinge of malice or enmity will corrupt it.
No, I do not wear swastika as jewelry and I do not have a tattoo on my body. Showing off is not appreciated in Hinduism. It is in my heart.

Although I do not belong to any traditional religion, my religion has a nearly universally recognizable symbol.

I wear a silver pranava, OM, on a silver chain. Basically it’s the Sanskrit character representing God in Hinduism. I have it as a tattoo on my right shoulder also. I wear it to identify as Hindu, though I usually wear it inside my shirt.

What? Me worry?
It's a good thing Jesus was crucified, or we'd all be wearing miniature electric chairs around our necks.

I used to say this and someone elaborated by pointing out it could also be an intravenous hypodermic needle...

I was in a shop once where they were selling chains of those. I noticed all the chains had exactly four pranavas on them. Do you know if there was any significance to the number four?
