I wonder what percent of people had access to toilet paper in the time of Jesus Christ or before?

Could you imagine a life without toilet paper? You got to appreciate the little things in life. We take so many luxuries for granted.

Wow, they come out with new uses for everything, I did not know this. I thought its soul purpose was for gift warping houses, you know for papering houses, especially this time of year.

Toilet paper is actually pretty gross and not very good at cleaning things. Plus, little pieces of it come off on you and get stuck. We should switch to bidets to clean up. Many other cultures just use water to clean themselves after.

Bidets are pretty good once you get used to them but they are mostly in hotels.
At dubai Airport the toilets don't have toilet paper, it's a hole in the ground and a water jet thing for the cleanup, lol I couldn't use them.

I prefer a garden hose up the ***.

Well not too far, just enough to err . ... clean things up.

More directly I think if I had a choice back then I would just plop myself in a free flowing body of water somewhere and let nature take care of it . There's a lot of organisms that just love poo!!!

BTW some of my youth was spent in an area where outhouses were the norm. Toilet paper consisted mainly of the old Sears and Roebucks catalog. You found out early that the shiny pages were not your friends..just sayin'. But, in retrospect, I guess I was lucky because I never had to use those devastating corn cobs.

I've never seen a bidet before cept for on TV. I hear that Europeans make fun of Americans for not using a one.

You found out early that the shiny pages were not your friends..just sayin'. But, in retrospect, I guess I was lucky because I never had to use those devastating corn cobs.

Bidets are good, always feel clean and fresh, a localised just showered feeling, essentially thats precisely it's function.

They are not so common in the UK except in the better hotels and WCs of the rich and shameless. In western Europe most WCs are equipped with one, even some public conveniences. Further east it depends on the country.

Ive never hard a European making fun of americans for not using a bidet, there is far more topical stuff to make fun of.
