I've had this feeling for a while that something is changing. It's not just one thing but all of them together, like the perfect storm is brewing: climate change, overpopulation, national disasters, the depletion of the earth's finite resources, the morally bankrupt society, all the red flags in the financial markets that keep getting ignored even when everything in unraveling before our eyes, etc, etc, etc.
Am I the only one who can't shake this feeling that something huge is going to happen?

The 20th century had greater crisis than the 21st century imo

I'm not sure that anything huge is going to happen - although it depends on how one defines "huge." Even with all of these factors listed above, I would see it more a matter of a slow, incremental decline and eventual breakdown - not with a bang, but a whimper.

It's a big **** sandwich, we all have to take a bite, nature is like karma, you put bad **** out its going to come back.

A big change?, there's already been many so possibly, will it be apocalyptic?, I doubt it.

I've thought something huge is going to happen for decades, one time it did and the Soviet Union crumbled. Of course greedy people are destroying nature and the planet's ability to keep a good life for future generations.

Don’t worry. If we are at a turning point then the steering will have seized up and we’ll go off the road in a fiery ball before crashing into a solid wall which is all we deserve. Doom, Doom, DOOM!!!

Or not.

Of course people have been falsely predicting the end of world for a long time.
List of dates predicted for apocalyptic events - Wikipedia

But cheer up. One of these times the end of the world might happen. Of course no one will be able to say, “See, I told you so.”

I think the challenges that result from the current population levels tend to be neglected and glossed over far more often than they are not, and many of the consequences reinforce each other. Many of our systems do indeed seem to be falling under their own weight, mainly because they were never meant to hold that much weight.

At the same time, communications and computing have advanced a lot, making those challenges somewhat more pressing and sometimes making it easier to flee from them for short periods of time.

Perhaps most intriguing of all is how that manifests in the political environment. It is remarkable how much we regressed from how we were back in the 1960s or even the 1980s. The very purpose of representative democracy is very much in question now, as people become more and more reliant on a variety of magical thinking in order to ward off feelings of powerlessness. We are running fast towards becoming multitudes of politically bipolar beings, at once self-entitled and apathetic.

The priest in the Baptist Church I visited has been declaring for decades "Soon huge things will happen". Keeps people sticking at the Church I guess

All these things you describe have been happening for thousands of years. Nothing "huge" there. Maybe Bible induced wish fulfilling thinking

Actually most people have one foot nailed to the floor, which may ultimately lead to tragic result.. Round and round the go turning and turning, no point to this to turn on.

No Biblical Apocalypse any more then the expectations people have had for thousands of years.
