Edomites have never been in captivity, and they're not Edomites anymore.

These twelve pieces represent, not twelve Tribes of Israel, for there were thirteen Tribes, but the twelve original Houses, or families of the sons of Jacob.

Hence the Houses originally given to Jeroboam were (1) Reuben, (2) Gad, (3) Joseph, (4) Issachar, (5) Zebulun, (6) Asher, (7) Dan, (8) Naphtali, (9) Simeon, (10) Levi. There were here eleven tribes; for Joseph comprised two tribes, Ephraim and Manasseh. Out of these the prophet takes away the one tribe referred to, and restores it to David's dynasty. This tribe was Levi. Thus, there still remained with Jeroboam ten tribes. That Levi, and not Benjamin, was the tribe thus restored is clear. Only with reference to that priestly community could Ahijah have spoken as he did of "a lamp always before Jehovah in Jerusalem" (v. 36)—obviously alluding to Temple services in connection with the worship of Jehovah.
Moreover, as we shall presently see, there is express evidence of the actual rendition of Levi by Jeroboam, and none of the rendition, or even of the original giving, of Benjamin.
From the foregoing passages, and from others which follow them, it is evident that the thirteen Hebrew tribes were to be divided into two distinct nations, namely, (1) Israel, or Isaac, as it was also sometimes called (Amos vii. 9, 16), and (2) Judah; and we are also expressly told that the kingdom of the Hebrew Race was to be taken from Judah and given to Israel (i Kings xi. 31-38)."
