Jesus' "manhood"...

Deo Vindice

Member
Hello. I've been a born again Christian for many years now, and try to live my life by God's will. One day me and a friend from my church were discussing the life of Jesus, and at one point it led to the speculation of Jesus' "manhood". No one can question the perfection of Christ, but Robert made the disgusting suggestion that because he is perfect he must be naturally well endowed. However, because lust and sexuality are sinful, and Jesus being sinless he would be asexual. Being childless and celibate He would also have no use for sex organs, so I don't think he would've had such a thing since he is perfect. He is a divine being not an earthy being. Robert got hostile when I suggested this and accused *me* of the one being blasphemous. I don't feel that some one can be a True Christian without fully understanding Our Lord. Any biblical scholars or theologians out there who could clear this up? I'd hate to see a brother in Christ go to hell over their foolish misunderstandings. God Bless!

Lust and sexuality are sinful? Excuse me for living.

OK - I was about to dismiss this as a spoof - but then I noticed your age according to your profile and now I'm kinda not sure whether I should be worried about you. If it is a spoof - I take my hat off to you - its a pretty good one - especially for your age. If it isn't - who the heck told you that sexuality is sinful - I am telling you categorically - they were lying. As for Jesus - well he can look after himself - having a prodigiously proportioned "manhood" is neither here nor there after 2000 years - or even 50 for that matter!

There is no way in hell that @Deo Vindice is under age 25. Absolutely incorrect vernacular for any one in that age group... :D

The double troll is that his name is a confederate flag motto... :D

No use for a penis? What did Jesus have, a simple hole where other men have a pee pee?

Don't let foolish fantasy overcome reason and logic. How can we make pronouncements about that which is not said?

However, because lust and sexuality are sinful
God created us to be sexual beings. We propagate through sex. We draw close to each other, comfort each other, and identify with each other through this bodily union. Sexuality is not sinful. Ever read Song of Solomon?

He is a divine being not an earthy being
Jesus was fully human and fully Divine. “Incarnate” means “fully human.”

I don't feel that some one can be a True Christian without fully understanding Our Lord
Who can fully understand God? Jesus didn’t ask us to fully understand him; he asked us to do what he did. Christianity isn’t a mental exercise — it’s a way of self-giving to others and building an agape’ community.

Why are you so concerned with wasting time arguing about Jesus’ pee pee?

There is nothing to suggest that he didn't have sex organs and intimacy is not sinful but, as you said, lust is.

What do you think are the requirement to being Heaven bound within the context of " I don't feel that some one can be a True Christian without fully understanding Our Lord."?

He is a divine being not an earthy being

He is both, fully divine and fully human. According to the Gospel of Philip;
"The companion of the Savior is Mary Magdalene. But Christ loved her more than all the disciples and used to kiss her often on her mouth. The rest of the disciples were offended by it and said to Him, ‘Why do you love her more than all of us?’ The Savior answered, ‘Why do I not love you as much as I love her?’ "
Ever read the 'song of Solomon/Song of Songs?

sin is based on ignorance
love covers all sins.

being perfect doesn't have anything to do with jesus' physical form. it's the actions of the tree that matter. pretty is as pretty does.

if a tree is not productive, it was to be cut down and burned.

job was a righteous man. he had children. melchizedek taught abraham about love, about charity.

jesus was made after the pattern of melchizedek. look to both to understand what perfection is. perfection is to love

No one can question the perfection of Christ
Lots of people can. Questioning is good. People who tell you otherwise are just trying to monopolize power over you.

but Robert made the disgusting suggestion that because he is perfect he must be naturally well endowed
I thought it wasn't the size but how you used it.

However, because lust and sexuality are sinful, and Jesus being sinless he would be asexual.
He wasn't sinless. Sure, the bible claims he is, but this is unsupported in the texts. He even breaks commandments from the Top Ten. If we are judged as we judge others, then he himself sent himself to hell for calling people fools.

Being childless and celibate He would also have no use for sex organs, so I don't think he would've had such a thing since he is perfect.
I think Jesus' relationship problems stem from the "the authors didn't want us to think about his family too hard, especially since they thought he was crazy". Also, Jesus clearly didn't like his family, so any pronouncements about family seem to be Freudian in nature.

He is a divine being not an earthy being.
Nope. If a human body isn't necessary, then there was no reason to be born.

I don't feel that some one can be a True Christian without fully understanding Our Lord.
A True Christian follows the Way. Nitpicking the status of the guide does nothing for the Way. It rains on the good and bad alike. The Way is there whether people take it or not. A gnat accidentally flying onto the Way is just as on the Way as any human on it.

I'd hate to see a brother in Christ go to hell over their foolish misunderstandings.
God would send someone to hell for thinking Jesus had a penis instead of the people who are abusing and killing kids? Ask yourself if God sounds petulant, petty, shallow, irrelevant, stupid, etc. If so, ask what you think the Way is about.

No use for a penis? What did Jesus have, a simple hole where other men have a pee pee?
Being intersex would explain a lot of the problems in his relationships.

Both you and Robert have your own beliefs but I don't see how christianity or your love for God means you judge another person's salvation because of disagreements. I assume when you come to Christ, all of that bias people have, who is a real Christian, who is Pagan, who is this or that, would drop for the well-being of people and of god. So, it would be productive to change your perspective on Robert and just address his opinions if need be.

As for jesus being asexual, in scripture if doesn't say he had no attraction to anyone. His sexual orientation wasn't important in his talk of salvation; so, a lot of it is speculation and sexual orientation im general misinterpretation.

As for lust and sexuality, sexuality based on lust is sinful. Sexuality as in who is attracted to who or if they are attracted to anyone isn't sinful. So a straight person isn't sinful because his sexuality is heterosexual. However, if he committed sexual promisquity which is lust, that would be sinful regardless of who he is attracted to.

But, my advice is to change your mindset about people who have different views of faith in God. Just because you became Christian doesn't mean you have to be like many who turned against people who disagree just because they found the Lord.
