Muslims and Christians?

Why don't Christians consider Muslims and believe they are children of God? Don't Muslims worship the God of Abraham from the old testament? Aren't Muslims a part of the old testament?I know they called God Allah but this is the God of the old testament right?

One reason would be the fact that Islaam decrees Christianity to be a misguided faith.

Another is that it also insists that Jesus was only human - although I supposed that might not be a problem for non-Trinitarian Christianity.

That is indeed what they claim.

Aren't Muslims a part of the old testament?I know they called God Allah but this is the God of the old testament right?
That depends on who you ask.

Muslims claim Abraham and other biblical figures, most remarkably Ishmael, as their prophets. But there is AFAIK no indication of what we now call Islaam in the Bible. And certainly no hint of Muhammad or of the Qur'an.

Because Islam formed centuries after Christianity and deviates significantly from what they believe to be the word and will of god, regardless of whether or not they worship that same god.

I'm a Christian and I believe all human beings are children of God.

Surely being "misguided" or "misinformed" does not disqualify someone from being a child of God. We are all the spiritual offspring of God, whether we are pleasing Him by our decisions or not.

This also applies to jews as well all of it, and Christians consider Jewish folks to be children of God.

This also applies to Christianity I don't know about Jews. Theres no hint of super rich tv pasters who use the money of the congregation to buy jet planes either.

Theres no churches with pastors over it and the alter call to accept Jesus to get saved and no sinners prayer in the bible either. Theres lots of things, really the churc itself is a manmade convention truthfully.

@Estro Felino, I noticed that your religion is listed as Pelagianism. I didn't know what that was so I googled it. Like you, I don't believe that we are tainted by original sin from birth, nor do I believe in infant baptism. (I'm always encouraged to find common ground between various religions.)

Primarily because of dogmatism.

If it isn't in the Bible, its not a part of reality or truth. Also, traditional Christianity holds the exaltation and deification of Jesus of Nazareth. Anything outside of that is heretical and untrue (according to traditional Christianity).

A lot of Christian against Islam has a lot to do with a combination of a few things, but most notably knowledge on Islam, the political difference from Christendom, and the geopolitical structures in between. Because Islam historically is considered new, it may be regarded as "satanic" cause its new and it diverges from what Christians believe.

..............

A real Christian consider anyone, even Atheists, God's child.

Real?!?!? Kind of a naive delusion of what Christians have believe for Millennia.

Unitarian Universalist?

Why is not Islam accepted? None of the ancient Abrahamic religions accept those religions that follow. Jews do not accept Christianity, Islam, nor the Baha'i Faith. Christians do not accept Islam, the Baha'i Faith nor ant other religion of the world, and Islam does not accept the Baha'i Faith, nor any other religion of the world.

(traditional) Christianity does not accept the pure monotheism. Islam nor Judaism accept the Trinity of Christianity.

I don't remember putting that down not sure what it is. I use to belong to an earth based Unitarian Universalist church for years. So I practiced Pagan rituals and everything while I was at church.

I still consider Mother Nature as being spiritual, I also believe in one God but that God has both a female and a male side. So but I am universal, I like all the religions including Christianity.

So I am semi Pagan now but if you ask what I practice, nothing but prayer and Zen Buddhist meditation. I am interested in Zen and Hinduism and philosophy.

So that's what I'm interested in most. I found some philosophy groups through meetup though so maybe planning on joining with one of those.

I rub Christians the wrong maybe get onto Christianity more then other religions when I talk religion on here because I live in Mesquite Tx suburd of Dallas Tx.

Its predominantly Southern Baptist, my sister goes to a Jewish Christian church Messianic but still they are a lot like the Baptists. Even Catholics and Baptists are on the same side out here, the Baptists rule and run everything out here they're king.

They like my oldest sister who is a member of a community church which basically believes the same as Baptists are all caught up in the alter call ritual and sinners prayer and joining the church.

They are so caught up with that they don't really care about God just getting people to join the church and going through the alter call getting people to reaccept Jesus and over and over. It's because the actual truth is they are not interested in Jesus or God just getting saved and getting out of hell.

Here's an example I have had talks with my sister who asked me when I was studying the bible if i had decided to go back to church tp Jesus Id say soemthing and respond with scripture. Oh you mean do I believe am I a believer have I repented and decided to believe.

UH nope that's not good enough, that's scripture but she asks me to say Jesus is God as if she is testing me to see if I'm a real Christian giving me a test trying to get me to profess Jesus as God not Lord .

First place the confession scripture is not something that has to be done to anyone person secondly the exact words don't say confess Jesus as God it says as Lord. So if I say Lord instead like the bible says they will get mad and offended so they're own scripture offends them.

Infact I have had several times when I was talking to Christians when something similar happened " Have you accepted Jesus as Lord savior and God have yous aid the sinner sprayer'None of that is in the bible.

But i have said a several times to these people I am reading bible have not decided weather I believe or not and they get angry literally pissed off to hear the believe term or the term believer.

They want me to say I born again Christian and hear me say the sinners prayer or I've accepted Jesus, none of that stuff is in the bible but If I actually use biblical scripture they are not happy. They are tottally caught up in the alter call ritual of the church obsessed with it.

What Christians have believed for millennia is not necessarily what Jesus taught them they should believe. Perhaps it's the Christians who are so insistent upon excluding everyone else on the planet besides them from being recognized as children of God who are the naive ones.

I believe the LDS church makes significant claims on its part.

Uh... yeah, like all churches, the LDS Church makes significant claims, and one of those claims is that we are all children of God. Apparently not all Christians would agree with us.

But sense Christians don't live by the bible or even seem to understand it or go by it that does not make sense to me.

Oh and which denomination or is it all of them that are living in a commune the way first Christians or believers Christian isn't really in the bible either right the word Christian? They all lived as one sharing everything no one owning anything yea right like any Christians live that way today. Theres a bunch of scriptuers Christians don't believe in so it holds no water with me.

Perhaps you misunderstood me. My post was directed specifically to Estro Felino, who said his religion was Pelagianism.

Oh sorry well mine might say Pagan too, I was a member of a Pagan UU church like I said I still hold a view of male and female God.
