I’m catholic. The holy bible is the words of God in the words of men. It is the errant word of God. Now the holy bible is also a catholic book. Jesus and the apostles used the Old Testament which is why it’s in the Bible. Two apostles and two eyewitnesses wrote the New Testament Peter and John were illiterate but they dictated it which is common even today.

That is interesting. I have not got a catholic style upbringing. This is a tiny bit of a tangent but do you have an opinion about the reason for parables and telling things in a way that people get the wrong idea of what is being said? For example Jesus as quoted in the gospels directly tells disciples that he is speaking cryptically on purpose and is therefore misunderstood by many. I have my own ideas about it. I think he doesn't want us to hang on his words. I think we are supposed to learn to be loving people and then discern things for ourselves, so that there is no harm then if a parable seems impenetrable. What, then, is a parable for? Why not just say it? Is truth dangerous?

I am of the opinion that Jesus was perhaps really god. There may be truth in Christianity. But the Bible is full of so many contradictions and mistakes that it puts me off. How can I become a Christian when the Bible is so full of imperfections?

Here's a rule to assist US in RIGHT understanding of the Bibe:

NEVER EVER CAN, MAY OR DOES, ONE VERSE, PASSAGE OR TEACHING HAVE THE AUTHORITY OR THE POWER TO MAKE VOID, INVALIDATE, OR OVERRIDE ANOTHER VERSE, PASSAGE OR TEACHING... were such even the slighest possibility{its NOT!}; such would render the entire Bible as worthless to learn or teach The Faith...

So if you can be specific and give examples; perhaps we can unravel the mysteries for you?

But know that the Bible is NOT a history book in the sense we know them today.

While the Literary From ought to always be the first assumed translation, it BY NO MEANS is the ONLY literally form utilized. Which is WHY only the CC can give a Full and truthful translation of it. TRUTH logically is a singular thing per issue.

Yea. in a "nut shell" its because TRUTH can only be singular per defined issue.

So the uncoding of the parable mystery is that precisely that only HIS Chruch and Faith can share the fullness of God's teachings... Mt. 13: 10-11 "
[10] And his disciples came and said to him: Why speakest thou to them in parables?
[11] Who answered and said to them: Because to YOU it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven: but to them it is not given."

Jesus is speaking here directly, and exclusively to His Apostles {see Mt 10:1-8}...One True God {1st Commandment} One True Faith Mt.15:18-19; John 17:17-20; Mt 28:19-20 and Eph. 4: 5; and just One True Church Mrt 16:18
