We see here so often an assertion from Atheism people that it is not a religion. Isn't one wrong here, please?

Atheism is a very passive, unremarkable stance.

Religion is very free-form, and there are definitely religions compatible with atheism (IMO all should be).

Research polls often present "atheism" as a possible answer for questions about religion as well (IMO a mistake and a misleading choice).

But it makes no sense to consider atheism a religion. It just doesn't have enough meat in its bones to even attempt to be one.

I don't believe that Atheism is a religion. But I define religion a little differently than I think most. I believe in a spiritual world and a physical world. While we live in the spiritual world, A part of the spiritual world is within us. You access the spiritual world from the inside. You access the spiritual world from within using various different methods, prayer, meditation, fasting, lighting candles, dancing, singing, incense, etc. This is religion, something the Atheists would never understand.

Atheism is a response to religion, but not a religion.

If you got mad at me (an emotion) I would have a response, but it would not necessarily be an emotional response.

Don't be too sure about that.

hey OK,
We atheists understand it, but we just don't agree with the concept of worshipping the invisible fairies in the sky ! Nor their `gods`.

They are clear on nothing, endless confusion and only assertions. Right, please?

It depends.

However, given how nebulously defined "religion" is, the implications of having one versus not having one may not be what someone assumes they are.
What do you think something being a religion implies @paarsurrey ?

Religion means belief in G-d and doing what He says and respecting the humankind.

Yet again, atheism is not the opposite of religion, it’s the opposite of theism.

Atheism or theism describes (an element of) what an individual believes. Religion is a set of beliefs and practices, something an individual does.

Atheists can be religious but most are not. Theists can be religious but some are not. Regardless, neither atheism or theism are religions in themselves.

People name their religion, "Theism" is no body's religion. Right, please?

Again with the knocking atheism because of misunderstanding.

Atheism is religion like not collecting stamps is a hobby.
