God is an Atheist

If God doesn't believe in any other gods does that make God an atheist?

I am the LORD, and there is no other; apart from me there is no God. I will strengthen you, though you have not acknowledged me,

I have wondered that myself.

But. How, then do you explain the first commandment of the oft-referenced 10?

Paraphrased: "you are not to believe in any other gods"

This would strongly imply that there are/were other gods for the bible's god to be jealous of...

I guess to not be an atheist all god has to do is believe he is god, which I assume he does.

Well, yeah.. .but if that had any validity? To quote Nietzsche:

"A casual stroll through the lunatic asylum shows that faith does not prove anything."

If what is commonly called God does not believe that they are a god, and that there are no gods, then yes, they would be atheistic.

Every time that comes up-- the discussion of god as maybe it's not-god after all? I immediately flash on to that now older Star Trek movie (I forget which one-- #4? ) wherein Kirk asks:

"Why does God need a starship?"

:)

Why indeed. Makes me also ask: Why does god require an ancient book?

if there is this omnipresent absolute, then obviously it dwells within all aspects itself, or evolutions of itself. i can't understand the jealousy without there being some possibility of otherness.

if anything i would think the delusion of otherness amusing; if i were the only one.

You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,

well if it doesn't believe in any otherness, and there is no otherness then the default is atheism. the exception is ex-nihilo then the possibility of worshiping otherness is possible because there is something besides god. the absolute would then be god and it's creation as divided, separate.

I'm glad we got that all figured out. :)

ask! seek! knock!!! the door will be opened to you............................knocking on heavens door.

Revelation 4:1
[ The Throne in Heaven ] After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.”

Nice one. I love good music, so I'll have to match you on that, by another Dylan song sung by my fav. Band.

...Turn this one up, bro.

THAT sounds like the Demiurge.

Jesus describes the Demiurge to John:
"And when he saw the creation which surrounds him, and the multitude of the angels around him which had come forth from him, he said to them, 'I am a jealous God, and there is no other God beside me.' But by announcing this he indicated to the angels who attended him that there exists another God. For if there were no other one, of whom would he be jealous?"- Secret John (Apocryphon of John).

It was the Demiurge Jesus tried to get the Jews to leave (as god) who lied and murdered. (John 8:38-45)

That sounds like something interesting to me, considering that when I do selfish things, I often get rewarded... I'm almost afraid to go to confession, in fact, because I know as soon as I do, bad things are going to happen. Guaranteed. As the saying goes, "no good deed goes unpunished".

...I wonder if that is who the Freemasons worship after looking it up.

"The word "demiurge" is an English word derived from demiurgus, a Latinized form of the Greekδημιουργός or dēmiourgos. It was originally a common noun meaning "craftsman" or "artisan", but gradually came to mean "producer"

The I am is you and me.
This is why atheists exist.
There is no God apart from you or me.
No one can prove otherwise.
Its a no brainer that most all religion miss.
Tell them I am sent you.
