The verse, in context:
Hebrews 4:1
This is talking about Jesus
Hebrews 4:2
This is talking about the Gospel, again, Jesus
Hebrews 4:3
Deific nature of the context
Hebrews 4:4
Hebrews 4:5
This is talking about Israel, coming to Jesus
Hebrews 4:6
Referring to Jesus
Hebrews 4:7
Deific, God speaking, referring to Jesus
Hebrews 4:8
Clearly still referring to Jesus, and how the Gospel is what Israel should accept, ie the Gospel of Jesus.
How does 'Joshua', here, even make sense? Joshua could have preached the Gospel, of Jesus, or, Joshua, could have brought Israel, the Gospel? It makes no sense, to put Joshua, in this verse.
Some Bibles are changing this clear reference, to Jesus, to Joshua. Not only does that change the meaning of the verses, contextually to the subject, Israel being the place of the Gospel, via Jesus, it also changes the overall religious message that Jesus, is the one bringing the Spiritual truth, to Israel.
