It's a descriptor, relating to the idea of a garden in the desert/wilderness. Not hard to understand.
Not hard to understand? What you are answering is only making me more confused. What garden in the wilderness? All the Torah says is that there was a place called "Eden" and G-d planted a garden in it. With a name like Eden, it would be kind of weird if we're talking about a desert.

Located where? Near four rivers.. in the desert.

Genesis 2:10-14
And a river is going out from Eden to water the garden, and from thence it is parted, and hath become four chief [rivers]; the name of the one [is] Pison, it [is] that which is surrounding the whole land of the Havilah where the gold [is], and the gold of that land [is] good, there [is] the bdolach and the shoham stone; and the name of the second river [is] Gibon, it [is] that which is surrounding the whole land of Cush; and the name of the third river [is] Hiddekel, it [is] that which is going east of Asshur; and the fourth river is Phrat.

This doesn't really tell us where Eden is located. Also, it doesn't tell us about the climate at the time. The Saharah desert wasn't always a desert.

Dust, thorns, and thistles might also be clues. But in either case, I also used the word wilderness, for your convenience. Try that one instead.

What was evil doing in paradise?
Maybe there's no such thing as paradise. It's like picking a house or hotel based on the pictures on the website and then getting there you realize it's a hot mess.

Wasn't Eden next to some major rivers? That's hardly "desert".

Ever seen pics of the Nile? There are thick green bands on either side of plants and stuff. Desert ecologies don't apply.

I mean, if you want a miracle, Eden should've been in the Sahara or something without a drop of rain. THEN I'd be impressed.

so what was the cause for the fall?
It never happened. Adam and Eve got an upgrade and God got angry and kicked them out. It's a story about two kids growing up.

The Nile and the Euphrates are dryland rivers. They exist.

"What was evil ( Satan ) doing in paradise?

To see whether Adam and Eve would obey God or obey Satan.

God could haved destroyed Satan right from the start, But rather than God doing that.
God did not want his creation coming to him out of fear of being destroyed themselves.
So God letting Satan play out his work of evilness, So that God's creation can see for themselves, What the evilness of Satan will bring for them.
And to know the difference between evil and good, with out good, how would people know what good is, and without evil, how would people know what evil is.
