@Furchizedek isn't condemning anything. He is talking. Actually not talking but communicating an opinion. AND he seems to be getting his opinion from what is written. It is telling that someone might call that condemnation. Isn't it?
I missed the edit. @9-10ths_Penguin Teaching anything contrary to the way is wrong. It isn't wrong to do it. It is wrong to teach it.
Talking and condemning aren't mutually exclusive.
@Furchizedek argued that Catholics shouldn't do it, that Satan loves when they do, and that because they do it, they don't love Jesus. I think the term "condemn" is appropriate.

Well, whatever, but at least Christians would be obeying Jesus if they prayed in secret as Jesus said to do, so there's that.
A person is forgiven for practicing something that he does not understand is wrong. But, there is no forgiveness for teaching someone else to do something wrong.

That isn't his opinion. It is what the Bible really teaches. Your problem is with the Bible. Mine is too, brother. LOL
And do you tell people who, for instance, say grace as a family before dinner that they "lovest not Jesus" the way you did to Catholics?
So the Bible was the basis of his condemnation of the behaviour. I really don't see what you're taking issue with.

Jesus says don't do it, and Jesus says if you don't do what Jesus says, you don't love Him. So apparently your argument is with Jesus and apparently it's Jesus who is condemning.
One more time:
"But thou, WHEN thou prayest, ...pray to thy Father." (Matthew 6:6)
"If a man love me, he will keep my words."(John 14:23)
"He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings." (John 14:24)
Argue with Jesus.
I think he might argue with the people who say that the Bible is really and truly The Word Of God. But, he leaves that to me to do. And, it's a hobby to be sure.
Jesus isn't in this thread; you are.
Or with the person hypocritically editing Jesus's words to suit his own purposes.
