Creation and Evolution Compatible...Questions

AManCalledHorse

If you build it they will come
No, I did not. You made a false claim about me and Christians in general. I explained which Christians, a minority of them, that I have a problem with. There was nothing there to "boost" myself.

Now do you care to try again? Since you seem to be having trouble let me be clear. One question per post. No false assumptions built into the questions. If you put a false assumption into a question I will correct that.

You make claims you can't support. Are being dishonest by trying to shift away from proper posts. Soon I will join the others and put you on ignore. I came to this forum to avoid trolls.

This made me think of a Wikipedia article. We keep hearing about how "solid" theories are, and the evidence backing them.

Well, this doesn't sound so 'solid'; in fact, "The theory is contrasted with punctuated equilibrium.":

Phyletic gradualism - Wikipedia
Overall the theory of evolution is very solid. You are merely complaining about the details. Theories often start off very general and are improved over time. Darwin proposed mainly phyletic gradualism. That was found not to be exactly right as the fossil record was more and more fleshed out. There have been periods of rapid evolutionary change and then long periods of relative stasis. If one went purely with one or the other one would be wrong. Both phyletic gradualism and punctuated equilbria occur in evolution. Some changes are fast and sudden, especially after major extinction events. Some are slow and gradual. That is all.

Name one, besides your improperly asked questions. By explaining what an improperly asked question is I did support my claims. You ask for too much. But just for fun here is part of a improper post of yours. I stop when you make a false claim:

"Wow! You have clearly established you don't like Christians . . ."

Do you see why that is a lead in to an improper question?

Nope, I have told you what you need to do to get answers. I am not going back and doing your homework for you. I will support my claims, but when you screwed up I will not backtrack.

Firstly that isn't a question so it definitely isn't a improper question.

You replied to the post I made to Hockeycowboy and started accusing me of asking improper questions. Support your claim in my post to him and point out the improper questions. Don't be a troll.

It does not matter, it is a false and unsupported claim that poisons the well.

No, you started to ask me improper questions. I explained how you did so. If you did not understand the time to ask was right after I pointed out your errors. Instead you merely asked more. I have done more than my share here. It is your turn now.

Make up your mind. Is it a improper question or a claim?

This started because I asked you, which you still are avoiding answering btw
"NOMB but what kind of work do you do and what degrees do you possess? You seem to think you know the bible better than others, know science better than others, can debate better than others, in general you think you are above most on every thing. Thanks in advance."

You replied with how you are smarter than creationists and or most Christians. My post had nothing to do with either. Most creationist are Christians and in turn my claim of you not liking them or thinking they are not smart is supported by your own post.

Then you replied to the post I made to Hockeycowboy and accuse me of asking improper questions. Then fail to support what questions in my post to Hockeycowboy were improper.

If I made a post to you that contained improper questions point it out or quit trolling me. Don't force my hand to put you on ignore.

Last time I looked we were still here - otherwise I wouldn't be writing this. Stop being so pessimistic! On the Beach was fiction after all! :D

You must live in a well-off country. (Go live for a while in Sudan, North Korea, or India.)

The GHI (Global Hunger Index) isn't fiction.

Here are statistics for killings. It even includes "intentional famines"!: Twentieth Century Atlas - Worldwide Statistics of Casualties, Massacres, Disasters and Atrocities.

And these are murders! Nothing about non-fatal inhumanities....or deadly diseases.
Sad, but true.

All of this manifests the truthfulness of Jeremiah 10:23....man cannot rule himself. He was only to have dominion over the animals (Genesis 1:28), and each one's individual family.

We need God's Kingdom! -- Matthew 6:9-10; Daniel 2:44

It's not fair to blame "atheists" for all the murder of the 20th century but 20,000,000 people died because it has generally come to be believed that people aren't responsible for their actions and their behavior.

Freud had a dalience with a hot sister in law in 1899 so genocide becomes the norm.

This is too slow to be "evolution" though.

Oh, no! I wasn't blaming atheists! No way!

(In fact, religion is the cause of much bloodshed! I mean, the Japanese soldiers in WWII were a religious lot, fighting for their 'divine' Emperor, Hirohito. )

Somebody had claimed that quality of life in this century wasn't as bad as had been posted, and I was just posting facts to the contrary, it's really a matter of perspective.

But I was in no way solely blaming atheism!

You know, a religion that claims to represent God accurately, should be a force for teaching and displaying love for everyone, not just for those in their respective countries. (Acts of the Apostles 10:34-35) Religion as a whole has epically failed in that respect.

Hold right there. I live in India. What's wrong here? People here are hopeful and optimistic about the future.

Even with all this the current human condition is better than what was the case anytime in history. So its irrational to be pessimistic.

Make up your mind. Is it a improper question or a claim?

That was obviously a false claim, it led into an improper questions in later posts. You made false personal attacks, and you expect me to respond to you politely? That is not reasonable.

This started because I asked you, which you still are avoiding answering btw
"NOMB but what kind of work do you do and what degrees do you possess? You seem to think you know the bible better than others, know science better than others, can debate better than others, in general you think you are above most on every thing. Thanks in advance."

That is demonstrably true, though inaccurately posted. I have more science education than just about any creationist here, I can understand the Bible better because I do not make the error of demanding that it is true.

You replied with how you are smarter than creationists and or most Christians. My post had nothing to do with either. Most creationist are Christians and in turn my claim of you not liking them or thinking they are not smart is supported by your own post.

Where did I say "smarter"? That is your claim. And you made an error, possibly two. Most creationists may be Muslim, I am not sure of the statistics. But most Christians do not appear to be creationists around the world. And again, I did not say "smarter".

Then you replied to the post I made to Hockeycowboy and accuse me of asking improper questions. Then fail to support what questions in my post to Hockeycowboy were improper.

I see that you did and that was my error. I thought that you were following up a previous post that you made to me.

If I made a post to you that contained improper questions point it out or quit trolling me. Don't force my hand to put you on ignore.

Once again I told you that I am not doing your homework for you. But now that you know that you have done it you should be able to avoid it int the future. I made an offer, if and when you do it int the future I will make it clear to you.

I just read that over 120,000,000 in India don't have enough food to eat.
India’s malnourished infants

It points to some striking national trends. For example the proportion of underweight children has fallen from 42.5% a decade ago, to just under 30% now. There have been similar improvements on stunting, wasting and other measures of malnutrition. The national immunisation rate has risen and the rate of open defecation is down from 55% of households to 45%.

And still it is vastly vastly better than since history started.

That is true for pretty much the whole world, but you are right, India is doing even better than most. I don't understand people that demand perfection in others when their are still problems, different problems but still problems, where they live.

Yeah, many can make predictions, and some will be right. Proves exactly what? And of course I'm grateful for being born in a relatively prosperous and free country. Just the luck of the draw. How are the problems of others supposed to impact me when I have almost zero ability to effect them? Pinker is still right - we are living in the best of times. Would you prefer to go back to another era? Really?

Again, who's living in the best of times? You gonna tell that to a hurting child in Sudan, Yemen, Syria, or CAR?

You don't have to do a thing about it, just recognize that it's not the best of times for quite a chunk of the population.

People are more selfish than ever before! And I see that trend increasing as atheism grows.....contributing to social issues becoming even more polemic, Rich getting richer, poor getting poorer
