I don't think so. If you look at the context of Matthew 7:22 it says, "that day".

22 Many will say to me in that day: ‘Lord, Lord,+ did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’+ 23 And then I will declare to them: ‘I never knew you! Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness!’+

What day? Isn't it the day the goats go off into destruction? Matthew 25:41 Then he will say to those on his left, "Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels."

Every tree not producing fine fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Matthew 7:19

savagewind,
The Day that Jesus was talking about is the Day of Judgement, Acts 17:31, Matthewed 25:31-46, 2Thessalonians 1:6-10.
Jesus wanted to help them take advantage of the time then, the start of the Day of Salvation, 2Corinthians 6:1,2. Jesus knew that their works, at that time, were not acceptable to Jesus’ Father, so he warned them, just as he did others.
Unless people were evil or extremely wicked, all are not condemned until the end of this old system of things, but all who live through The Great Tribulation must be a footstep follower of Jesus, Revelation 7:14, 1Peter 2:21, Acts 4:12, John 20:30,31.
Agape!!!

How are people who have changed the meaning of the words of God friends of the World?

savagewind,
Think about this, which is my own opine. When a person changes the meaning of the words that God, Himself, inspired, you could stumble a person so that the do not listen to the truth of God’s word, which would condemn them to the Lake of Fire and Sulfur. A person who changes God’s words are worse than Hitler who caused the death of millions of people, because the people Hitler killed will be resurrected, but if a person is stumbled from the truth of God’s word, he may never return, and therefore lose everlasting life. This is why the Bible warns everyone, whether by accident or purposely mis applying God’s word, 2Peter 3:15-17.
Even though most people do not understand God’s word, the worldly people are enemies of God, and are dead in His sight, Romans 5:9-11, Colossians 1:21-23, Ephesians 2:1-5. The Bible actually tells us that if you love this world, you are an enemy of God, James 4:4, 1John 2:15-17.
What is meant by loving the world is; having our mind on things of the flesh, instead of things that relate to the spirit. This idea is explained very clearly in Romans the 8th chapter, especially 1-11. The things of the flesh and the things of the spirit are stated at Galatians 5:19-25. Agape!!!

The end of the old system of things and the Day of Judgement are the same thing. Are they not?

You said that after Jesus will say to them, "get away from me", they will have the time to repent and obey him.

Didn't you say that?

Question Everything
In Jesus name means God's will be done. Correct?

The people who say (whenever they say it) "Lord, Lord!" means they believe they are doing or have done God's will. Correct?

7 “Stop judging+ that you may not be judged; 2 for with the judgment you are judging, you will be judged,+ and with the measure that you are measuring out, they will measure out to you.+ 3 Why, then, do you look at the straw in your brother’s eye but do not notice the rafter in your own eye?+ 4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Allow me to remove the straw from your eye,’ when look! a rafter is in your own eye? 5 Hypocrite! First remove the rafter from your own eye, and then you will see clearly how to remove the straw from your brother’s eye.6 “Do not give what is holy to dogs nor throw your pearls before swine,+ so that they may never trample them under their feet and turn around and rip you open.7 “Keep on asking, and it will be given you;+ keep on seeking, and you will find; keep on knocking, and it will be opened to you;+ 8 for everyone asking receives,+ and everyone seeking finds, and to everyone knocking, it will be opened. 9 Indeed, which one of you, if his son asks for bread, will hand him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, he will not hand him a serpent, will he? 11 Therefore, if you, although being wicked, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more so will your Father who is in the heavens give good things+ to those asking him!+12 “All things, therefore, that you want men to do to you, you also must do to them.+ This, in fact, is what the Law and the Prophets mean.+13 “Go in through the narrow gate,+ because broad is the gate and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are going in through it; 14 whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are finding it.+15 “Be on the watch for the false prophets+ who come to you in sheep’s covering,+ but inside they are ravenous wolves.+16 By their fruits you will recognize them. Never do people gather grapes from thorns or figs from thistles, do they?+ 17 Likewise, every good tree produces fine fruit, but every rotten tree produces worthless fruit.+ 18 A good tree cannot bear worthless fruit, nor can a rotten tree produce fine fruit.+ 19 Every tree not producing fine fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.+ 20 Really, then, by their fruits you will recognize those men.+21 “Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the Kingdom of the heavens, but only the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will.+ 22 Many will say to me in that day: ‘Lord, Lord,+ did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’+ 23 And then I will declare to them: ‘I never knew you! Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness!’+24 “Therefore, everyone who hears these sayings of mine and does them will be like a discreet man who built his house on the rock.+ 25 And the rain poured down and the floods came and the winds blew and lashed against that house, but it did not cave in, for it had been founded on the rock. 26 Furthermore, everyone hearing these sayings of mine and not doing them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.+ 27 And the rain poured down and the floods came and the winds blew and struck against that house,+ and it caved in, and its collapse was great.”28 When Jesus finished these sayings, the effect was that the crowds were astounded at his way of teaching,+ 29 for he was teaching them as a person having authority,+ and not as their scribes.

In that day means the day a person knows by the will of God (and not by their own imagination) that they are on God's side or on their own side (or even on the side of something else, but that's another story).

I never knew you, get away from me.
Is translated wrong.

Proof? How can thrown and get away be reconciled? One of them is wrong!

Get is by a person's own initiative. Is thrown also by a person's own initiative? Of course not! Therefore, your way is

Ridiculous!

so... I have recently left the LDS church, and in so doing a few people have judged me... I still have faith that there will be some sort of afterlife, although I am unsure of the details of it all. So, to make the best of it, we are to:

just love everyone - not judge them, give everyone the benefit of the doubt, no hatred etc.
bear fruit - serve others, be kind / generous
seek/study/find

build our house on... just principles of goodness? charity, hope, peace, empathy etc.?

That sounds just about perfect to me.

To find God is the same as to find the Truth.

charity, hope, peace, empathy
, and truth.

I suggest you put your church attendance in the hands of Jesus. If you need help let me know.

I do not believe so. I believe the system will not end until the end of the 1,000 year reign of Jesus is challenged and the enemy loses.

I do not believe the council changed any words.

on changing words... the best we are going to achieve here is to agree to disagree...but they did omit entire sections....didn't change them...just removed them completely

Well, I would answer that, but per the post subject...I am supposed to ignore your questions.
