Only one Hawking died.

Several decades ago, I took my son (about 3 at the time) to see a cartoon festival.
But I got the date wrong, & we saw a documentary about "Stephen Honking" instead.
To this day, he's still "Stephen Honking" to us.

It's a sad day loosing a brilliant mind like his. Condolence to his loved ones.

The positive here though, is that even though doctors thought he didn't have long to live, he did, and discovered amazing things that have changed how we understand our universe.

He was also a vocal activist about certain issues, like not privatising the NHS (national health service) and critiqued the lack of funding, since it saved him.

His character is as praiseworthy as his intellect. Inspite of his severe physical handicaps, he was able to make extensive contributions to theoretical physics, authored good thought provoking books and as a professor guided 39 students to their PhD.

What was his actual belief about God and the afterlife? Did he know that Hinduism predicted many scientific advancements like matter and antimatter or that planets circle stars like we circle the sun?

Will he get military honours at his funeral because like Baroness Thatcher he deserves it.
