Clinton's impeachment

There's a problem because Wikipedia says Clinton was impeached because of perjury and obstruction.

But the only thing I remember him going to court for was to talk about Monica Lewinsky and he lied about her so that was perjury.

But if it's not against the law to have an affair then why was he dragged into court 2 testify about his affair?

He shouldn't have lied about his affair. I think it's fair that the Republicans forced the issue. What he did was wrong and no amount of defending him can fix that.

This coming from a liberal and one who votes consistently for the left.

Anyways, it's done. His affair is public. He's a known liar yet still did good things as a president. It's not black and white.

Let's move on...

Clinton's impeachment had absolutely nothing--I repeat--nothing to do with Monica Lewinsky. Please check your history.

It was the lying to congress that got him impeached, not the affair itself. What presidents, besides Carter and Nixon, have not had fooled around a little on the side?
The Republicans have a propensity for seeing the opposing party as The Enemy, to be destroyed by any means necessary, rumor mongering and character assassination are a matter of course.

He obstructed the case of a woman that accused him of sexual harassment (Paula Jones) and he lied about his dalliance with Lewinsky. His impeachment had nothing to do with the affair itself ( I corrected myself).

what about a white house intern? If its not illegal to have an affair why was he forced into court to talk about it? Why shouldnt Trump be in court talking about his porn star affair?

Well Clinton was under oath due to the Paula Jones case but it was a bit worse that Lewinsky was a subordinate. He just shouldn’t have lied about it.

Impeachment of Bill Clinton - Wikipedia
The impeachment process of Bill Clinton was initiated by the House of Representatives on December 19, 1998, against Bill Clinton, the 42nd President of the United States, on two charges, one of perjury and one of obstruction of justice.[1] These charges stemmed from a sexual harassment lawsuit filed against Clinton by Paula Jones. Clinton was subsequently acquitted of these charges by the Senate on February 12, 1999.[2] Two other impeachment articles – a second perjury charge and a charge of abuse of power – failed in the House.

I do stuff
Do you solemnly (swear/affirm) that you will tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, (so help you God/under pains and penalties of perjury)?

Because people thought he raped her. She was 19 and he was what, 40 something?

I don't remember "rape" ever being mentioned regarding Lewinsky.
Where he really got in hot water was lying about the sex with her,
& then making himself look even worse with this statement....
"It depends upon what the meaning of the word 'is' is."

But again, his impeachment was about the Jones case, not Lewinsky.
