How do you become a Christian according to the Bible?

I know this answer, but many do not seem to know this answer these days. The truth has been twisted and misrepresented. How exactly do you guys go about this process? I want every step please! :)

As a non-Christian, I can only comment based on the Bible as I understood it when reading it. The Bible seems to treat faith and Baptism as equally important in the salvation department. The New Testament, I ought to say.

While the Bible says faith saves you, it also says it is useless without works, and says in another place that Baptism 'saves you also'.

I'd say honestly that Catholics, Anglicans, and Eastern Orthodox do seem to have the best grasp on what the New Testament says about salvation. That isn't surprising- given the Church when it was still one compiled the New Testament using it's tradition.

It is crazy how a non-Christian seen the importance of baptism as being essential to salvation according to the new testament. I do believe baptism is the mechanism through which you are saved mainly because the Bible refers to it as being the avenue for salvation. Very interesting you see this. I guess you being an outsider to Christian denominationalism, you are able to see without bias opinion. Thanks for the reply!

Id say in my experience is the sacred acts in which a person perform, have faith in, ane believe that saves them. Baptism by water and spirit is two fold. You clean your physical natural unto grace with physical water. Your faith and conviction at the same time lets him cleanse your heart.

Second, a person wishing to believe has to repent. In doing so, he tells god what he did wrong in order for him to feel forgiven of emotional and mental guilt. His evidence and confirmation is the bible. His self fuflled prophecy is his experiences attributed to God. Without this conviction of repentence by trust and grace the heart is not yet open to christ (salvation).

A person needs to become part of the body of christ. How so? They need to eat together and their gods table. In doing so, they share the life (bread/bodh), death (wine/blood) and resurrection (result of communing) in christ. By communing by his bread and wine (his life and death) one is resurrected unto god.

Lastly, to be christian one needs to express his conviction. Its fine to do so alone but it does say for the newbie to say jesus is his lord. Many churches do this in various forms. Its a conviction and public expression of faith.

The first is baptism, second confession, third communiom, and fourth confirmation.

These are the sacred initiations or physical and mental thus spiritual convictions to believe. Without these, salvation is not balanced.

Edited.

Various denominations have their teachings about this, some differ.

However the process is:
repentance,
dedication to serve God through Christ
baptism into Christ, which enters a person into the New Covenant of blood of Christ that is the basis for the ransom; this is what forgives sins
Living in Christ, avoiding sin that damns.
Thus, infant baptism is without value, as is baptism of small children. You have to be able to agree to the contract.

The Bible is a collection of books that are not meant to tell you how to be a Christian, so it takes a bit of work to find out from it how. The truth is like manna that must be gathered by each person and spoils overnight except the day before the Sabbath. So of course it is twisted when people keep trying to store it up for tomorrow.

Rom 10:8 In fact, it says, “The message is very close at hand; it is on your lips and in your heart.” And that message is the very message about faith that we preach:
9 If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.
11 As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.”
12 Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect. They have the same Lord, who gives generously to all who call on him.
13 For “Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.”

But let me also add to the above is that Christianity is not just belief-- it's also a living out the faith. IOW, believing in Jesus so as one does what Jesus taught and not just believes some things about Jesus. The Parable of the Sheep & Goats (Matthew 25) and the Sermon On the Mount make that abundantly clear.

IOW, like with Judaism, it's more than just a belief or set of beliefs-- it's a lifestyle.

OK, my sermon is over, so now I'm passing you the collection plate.

I agree completely!!! I think that it is within those scriptures as the understanding of "Lord" means more than being saved since it includes living out the faith with actions for faith without actions is a dead faith.

I'm waiting for your passing of the offering plate :)

This is so true!
Jesus Hates Denominationalism as well according to 1 Corinthians 1:10-17

Im not really following... Can you give some examples of how some were saved like this in the Bible? Acoording to the records of conversions in the Bible people first heard the word as did the ethiopian eunuch in Acts. After the men believed the words told by Philip, they came unto water and desired to be saved. They obviously repented in their hears because they would not have been willing to carry out the process of salvation. They went down into the water and were baptized. After their baptism they went on their way rejoicing, not before Acts 8:26-40. Many other accounts in the Bible follow this same process. The multitude did the same in Acts 2:37-40 as did many others in the New Testament.

??? The Bible is actually very clear... Its hard because people do not want to see the truth sadly... :(

Thats what my post says, really.

Salvation is a personal and body of christ conviction that one lives lile christ, dies like christ, and is resurrected like christ. Salvation is a life long lifestyle of living the Passion.

As for the bible, either you can live like christ and use the bible as guidence (let jesus define your salvation) or you can let the bible define your salvation in jesus.

Depends on who or what you want to base your salvation/conviction to be with god on. Jesus or the bible.

the Bible doesn't state how to become Christian. There were no Christians during the time in which the books of the Bible were being written. At least not in the sense of today. To be a follower of Christ, one could argue that the Bible (or different books) argue that you must become a Jew first. Others could argue that it has to do with being baptized. Others could argue that it has to do with becoming a God-fearer. There really is no cut and dry answer.

Belief in the bible assumes that one who believes will obey... That's why John #:16 says that those who believe SHOULD NOT perish. This is because if you believe the scriptures, then you should seek the path of obedience.

The Bible is not clear at all. And considering that most are only reading a translation of the text, one that doesn't always bring across the full meaning, the whole thing becomes muddled. That and the Bible contradicts itself, it becomes very messy

Every "contradiction" can be explained. Their are no contradictions. The Bible is very clear on the matter of salvation.
Hear-Romans 10:17
Believe-John 3:16
Repent-Acts 17:30
Confess-Matthen 10:32-33
Be Baptised-Mark 16:16
Examples-Act 2:38,Acts 8,John 3,Acts 16:25-40,etc

That is a laughable claim and demonstrates you do not know what you are talking about, so do not embarrass yourself further.
