Jehovah's Witnesses Knocked on My Door

The difference between you and me is you do not care if you embarrass yourself.

And you honestly believe that you haven't done that? Seriously?

What about all those threads with just you, in one post after another, with incoherent rambling, talking to yourself.....do you even remember those?

If later I have to read words I wrote, I want them all to be still true words. You know?

By all means go back and re-read what you have posted....

It is clear to me that you have never found a substitute for what you left, (if you ever really were a part of my brotherhood in anything but your own imagination.....)

Jesus said there would be those ones "outside" "weeping and gnashing their teeth"

...that is all I have ever seen from ex-JW's. They are a miserable bunch by and large.....because they left, burned their bridges and had no where else to go.

Our spirituality can be like a nice piece of fruit....it ripens to full maturity, but if care isn't taken to preserve it, it doesn't stay ripe, it just goes rotten.

If you know better than the ones who direct our organization, then you are welcome to find another spiritual home where everyone will believe what you want them to......if you haven't found it yet, then perhaps we need to ask if it even exists? You know it isn't in Christendom. So let us know when you find it.
You can't exactly be a church of one.

We all know some ex-Witnesses, don't we, Deeje? Some I knew were real close to me! 2 were best friends, even! Went in Service a lot. Now, some I see or hear about, have gone off the deep end! They are irrational, and make no sense. It reminds me of what happened to King Saul....a "bad spirit" terrorized him.

I "speak of them with sadness."

It is like a death in the family. :( Those who got disciplined over some infraction and couldn't deal with it, or had issues with fellow brothers.....and those who wanted to dictate to the Governing Body over some translation issue or doctrinal points.....if there are errors to be corrected, all we have to is wait patiently, because God will see to it in his own time. Sometimes the very issue over which they defected, was resolved after their departure and pride now prevents them from coming back. Humility prevents these things from ever happening in the first place.

At this time in history, how vital it is to stay close to God's people and patiently wait as these days draw to their end.

James 5:7-9...."Be patient then, brothers, until the presence of the Lord. Look! The farmer keeps waiting for the precious fruit of the earth, exercising patience over it until the early rain and the late rain arrive. 8 You too exercise patience; make your hearts firm, because the presence of the Lord has drawn close.
9 Do not grumble against one another, brothers, so that you do not get judged. Look! The Judge is standing before the doors."

Good advice eh?

Yes! Didn't we have a great Watchtower discussion about the Resurrection?! What a reason to stay humble. I know I don't know anything! I'm just glad to be taught! Isaiah 54:13...."And all your sons will be persons taught by Jehovah; and the peace of your sons will be abundant."

Thanks for the encouragement, my sister!

According to Jehovah's Witness dogma you are right! BUT, according to the Bible, you are very, very wrong. Matthew 18:20 It's actually a church of two when I am there. Sometimes more, but usually just the two of us.

They aren't making sense because you are not letting them make sense. When you encounter an XJW YOU rule the affair. Lords rule. You are your OWN lord. You are not letting Jehovah show you. What happens to people like that according to your own dogma?

I the Governing Body over some translation issue or doctrinal points.....if there are errors to be corrected, all we have to is wait patiently, because God will see to it in his own time.
Here you go. You have to believe that Armageddon is so very close it can happen tomorrow and the GB is already preparing you for that day which is coming very soon, but Jehovah hasn't seen fit to fix every translation issue yet? Jesus (remember him?) says the TRUTH will set you free. Where is it written that we have to wait for it?

.
This looks like you are admitting that there are false ones among you. Now think! Can you? You say that Jesus is not with an individual, but that he is only with your GROUP. According to that theory, that makes him a sharer with liars.

Muffled

Jesus in me
That's not entirely correct....it's where the Scripture has "LORD", not Lord. As in Psalms 110:1, or in Psalms 8:9, or Malachi 3:16, or Exodus 3:15....it goes on and on, where reading The Name can bring a clearer understanding of the passage.

I mean, God put His name in the Hebrew Scriptures over 6,800 times! Who are humans to take It out?

I believe I wish it were so but it wasn't in the version of the NWT that I read but maybe the new version of the NWT is better. Does anyone know when they revised the NWT because it certainly doesn't read like gobbledy gook like the old one.

I believe I find that a bit presumptive. If God inspired the writers to write God's name then why did the JW's have to change it from Lord? And is the change inspired or just men diddling around with it because they think it is better.

I had a visit from a Jehovah's Witness who left me an "Awake" magazine. I told him I would not give him .25 for it and he said I did not have to.

There are twenty biblical quotes in the magazine. Five of the quotes are word for word correct from the bible, seven of the quotes are slightly changed, and eight of the quotes are greatly changed to give the Jehovah's Witness interpretation.

Some of the quotes have the biblical reference in parenthesis as if to admit that this is not the word for word version and that it is their interpretation. Some of the quotes do not have the parenthesis and are still very changed.

When you change a biblical quote on purpose and provide a bible reference for that changed quote, that is called lying.

If you want to post a biblical quote and THEN give your Jehovah's Witness interpretation of it, that is fine, but purposely changing quotes to make the bible say what you WANT it to mean is dishonest.

That also means, that JW's didn't think that people like yourself would not be smart enough or intelligent to catch them in their changing things, to fit their interpretation, of the bible.

It's not called "changing things", it's called "restoring things".

It's your Bibles that have removed God's Name, that have words like "hellfire", etc.
Not all, fortunately, but most.

No it's actually called deleting, once you delete and had your word in its place, that's changing what was there in the first place and adding your word in it's place, thats called deleting and adding to.

Please quote what parts of scripture you believe have been deleted in the NWT. What was there in the first place that did not require adding an article for clarification?

Some people seem to believe that Jehovah will not consider it a sin if a person doesn't know what he or she does is sinning. Then we must resort to what Jesus taught which is Matthew 7:2. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

It is a sin to change the Word of God. Believers know it and even unbelievers know that it would be wrong if there was such as thing as God's words.

Matthew 7:2 is true whether a person sins intentionally or by accident. Right?
