Predestination?

Rogue Theologian
As you said " you don't recall a previous life"

This is why Peter wrote in his second letter, I now write unto you: in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance.
2nd Peter 3:1.

Peter and all the other disciples and including the Prophet's in the old testaments, are trying to bring back to our remembrance about the first earth age, As to what happen, that brought us to be here in this second earth age.

God is not in no way holding any of us responsible for Satan's rebellion back in the first earth age.
But however God will hold us responsible for what we do here in this second earth age.

There are two paths that are laid out before all of us, one path will lead to life everlasting to Christ Jesus, And the other path will lead to death and destruction to Satan.
That it all depends on You, Your choice which path you chose ?
I see the event differently....
You follow your body into the box.....into the ground.....
and suffer eternal darkness.....which I think is physically real

or......

you rise from your body shortly after you last breath
stand before God and heaven
with the devil right behind you

Where do you get all that at or who exactly told that ?

Where do you get all that at or who exactly told that ?
it is written......
....and he (the devil) will be at your heel

I thought I was posting an obvious (self supporting) statement

are you confused?.....have you doubt?
or are you knee jerking to denial?
hoping I have said something less than true

Why would you need faith when one has all these ancestral memories to guide them.
Because we don't have those memories. A veil has been placed on our minds.

Of course, the more you ponder on spiritual things, live a godly life and strengthen your faith, there is an increase to the possibility that your spiritual self would have more of an impact on your mortal self.

We were placed in this world, under these conditions, with a veil over our minds to test what we have truly become.

If we came here with our past knowledge and experience intact, would we really be showcasing what we are (truly loving and caring Beings), or are we merely being automatons forever obedient to a God and Father who we just don't want to **** off?

We are being sifted.

That's what the Bible speaks about,
the 3 earth ages.

The first earth age, is where we and the dinosaurs were at. That now we find the dinosaurs bones from that first earth age.
The first earth age, is where Satan started his rebillion against God. And God destroyed that first earth age, because of Satan's rebellion. That now we find the dinosaurs bones in the earth, being witnesses to that first earth age.

We ourselves were spirit beings in the first earth age, and God Predestinated us to be here in this second earth age.

This is what Jesus and Nicodemus were talking about in their conversation in John 3:3-6 in being born again, Where we were spirit beings, in the first earth age, that now we are born again into this second earth age, thru the womb of our Mothers. Being born again thru the water from our mother's womb.

Paul speaks about this in the book of Ephesians 1:1-11
Verse 4--"According as he ( God ) has chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love"

Therefore God Predestinated us to this world before the foundation of this world ever came to be, that we should be without blame, because of Satan's rebellion in the first earth age. So there are two paths being laid out before us, one path leads to life everlasting, and the other path leads to death and destruction of Satan. We all have our choice as to which path we choose to follow.
God is not holding any one of us to blame of Satan's rebellion back in the first earth age, but God will hold us responsible for what path we choose in this second earth age.

Verse 5--"Having Predestination us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will"

Therefore God predestinated us to this second earth age. To where we were spirit beings in the first earth age, that now we have been born again of the water thru the womb of out mother's, into this second earth age.

That at the second coming of Christ Jesus the third earth age will be ushered in.
I don't agree with a lot of the doctrine you just shared, but I do agree with the conclusion you have drawn.

There are really only the two paths before us.

Even though we live in a spectrum, our choices that move us along that spectrum take us closer to one path or the other.

It is only through reliance on the Lord Jesus Christ that we can know the way to the correct path.

I can almost agree with your last line (only)

though I have not ruled out reincarnation....
I believe the body is intended to form a unique spirit on each occasion

if reincarnation is part of the scheme.....
the subsequent livings should produce a high quality of spirit......but....
it would be needful to remember the previous occasions

if you can't remember your past.....you are doomed to repeat it

I also agree with only you last line! :)

I can't imagine reincarnation. Having to come back here over and over?

Pfft. I'd rather just go to Hell.

Wouldn't the concept of reincarnation require these spirits to be reborn on the Earth over and over again until they reach the perfect quality?

Did I read too much into it?
nah.....

but the reincarnation scheme leaves out.....WHO is in charge....

is it God sending you back until you get it right?
or the devil?... trying to corrupt your efforts until the grief destroys you

but for lack of retained info....I don't lean to the scheme

I think we do this once

if there is correction to be made....heaven will do so
I see we have disciplines in this life
I anticipate greater disciplines in the next

and if all fails.......o hell......

I'm wondering, purely through observation, if some people are predispositioned to fail to comprehend faith.

In catholic thought, it only goes in one direction.

However, you aren't completely wrong either.

I would say the pre is only there as a creation of presuppositions, neuro-associations, bad experiences, and some go deeper to disordered psychological impulses. The impulses is extreme and I don't consider most non-theist that way. I do however think that some of them have a perception of the world in stark, bipolar terms, whereby it does impair their capacity for critical thinking. If a religious topic almost immediately activates the same chemicals in them......as say.....anger, anxiety, frustration, etc. Not that those feelings are unwarranted either, but it's a real thing.

Place on top of that people don't really dialogue much anymore; especially not in the real world. I haven't even gotten to the part where people are usually speaking different languages and misunderstandings are common. A good dialogue, takes patience, precision, civility, etc. and even then it takes time.

Add to that the reality that what I described above is not something people of faith are immune from. I mean, when are you going to stop playing around and become Catholic? Obviously you and I don't agree, so does that make you predisposed in a similar fashion?

God exists independently of time. Talking about things linearly makes no sense, the instant we are born is occurring 'at the same time' as when we die. Predestination is self-contradicting in Christian theology because there is no 'pre'. I.E. The term is contradictory but the concept is a given
