Implications of Pilot Wave Theory

Put me at highly skeptical. The Pilot Wave Theory (very similar to Bohmian mechanics) has great difficulty dealing with relativistic effects such as spin and antimatter.

I'd suggest looking at Lobos Motl's discussion of this theory at The Reference Frame.

In particular, the NASA article fails to deal with the *outside* power sources for the microwaves, making the whole thing highly doubtful.

What? Me worry?
I am by no stretch of the imagination a scientist (let alone a physicist) but if I am reading this right could the technology possibly be developed where we could lock onto the energy of maybe a distant star and basically be pushed/pulled to it?

I love stories like this. I've been aware of the EM drive for quite some time and was pleasantly surprised that there was experimental evidence it works. I'm looking forward to more and better experiments testing this theory.

Ahhhh...the coupling of all the Cosmosis,
or avoiding coincidentals of randomicity.
It's way above my pay grade !

Probably because pilot wave has zero to do with local. Just a simple guess. A bit like watch a wave roll in watch the splash look pilot wave doesn't explain the splash. This stuff isnT that difficult.

Well, the issue with the NASA article (which wasn't in a standard journal, by the way) is that it didn't consider some aspects that would provide the amount of thrust seen and make sure they were controlled. Bad form.

As for Pilot Wave Theory, non-local partial differential equations are well-known and well-understood on the mathematical side. The question is whether the theory can actually explain what we observe. In particular, all such theories have had great difficulty with relativistic effects and antimatter creation/annihilation.

look we can go on and on, and I keep telling you no matter what, local phenomena observed aren't primary. Willie Nelson guitar as an example. Here we have the observed mechanical and clearly it functions not independent of but in relationship to non locality Willie. If this guitar is hammered on 2 much longer its going to turn into a klein bottle. Check that one out or, easier and also even more possible a mobius strip. Then we will have great evidence of string theory being fact..
