Australia legalizes same-sex marriage - CNN

From NYTimes

The final approval in the House of Representatives, with just four votes against the bill, came three weeks after a national referendum showed strong public support for gay marriage. The Senate passed the legislation last week.

Australia Makes Same-Sex Marriage Legal

The bill includes exemptions for registered religious celebrants, who can refuse to marry same-sex couples on the basis of their faith.

Some conservative politicians had sought to extend exemptions to others, such as non-religious celebrants and businesses, but those proposals failed.

This is the best possible outcome. Those of anti-gay religious convictions can't be forced to go against them (as they have no doubt stated would be the case) but neither are their beliefs justifiable to deny LGBTs the same legal rights as straights.

Finally. Though I am shocked the yobbos in office actually did something about it before Christmas.
Now we can treat gay people fairly and have even more opportunities to get drunk at weddings. A huge win for all involved.

Less discrimination is good. I'm a bit surprised my local news networks didn't report on this yet.

Christian Andreason's Near-Death Experience

If this world was to ever find out just a small amount of what sexually diverse (gay) people are here to do on this planet, there would never be one single wisecrack or hurtful remark made ever again. Instead there would be great respect! People who speak disrespectful things about people of this orientation ... enact judgment, and do so from a place of unenlightenment, insecurity, ego and socially induced prejudice. Some may use mistranslated scriptures taught to them, not by the Holy Spirit ... but by fear-filled human beings. Many will choose to sustain a Divinely unsupported satanic hate-based rage against these children of God, rather than using Love to bring understanding and healing between both peoples. Christ said, THE GREATEST COMMANDMENT IS THAT WE ARE TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER! When people sling condemnation, judgment and bitterness at others, they are not practicing the great commandment. They are allowing their Souls to fall into darkness.
