Theocracy: a system of government in which the clergy rules in the name of God or a god.

Christians, assuming that such a theocracy would be in complete alignment with your beliefs would you trade it for your current form of government?

Why?

Why not?

If it was by appointment of God, such as fullfilling the prophecy of Isaiah yes. But if it was conceived by men with motives of greed or power then no. How would you know the difference? If it was a good government, fair and righteous then it is of God and acceptable.

Isaiah 1:26
"Then I will restore your judges as at the first, And your counselors as at the beginning; After that you will be called the city of righteousness, A faithful city."

Isaiah 9:7
There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will accomplish this.

One problem with that is who gets to decide what is "good government, fair and righteous"? The bishops, priests and other clergy who make up the theocracy. Layfolk like you and I wouldn't get a say. So whatever is "fair and righteous" in the sight of your god will only ever be down to subjective human interpretation unless Yahweh comes down from Heaven to inform us personally.

Also, which version of Christianity would you be comfortable with becoming state doctrine? There are plenty to choose from.

In order to have peace everybody would have to agree it was fair and righteous. Christianity states it is not by a written code but by the spirit. So you could have any doctrine you want as long as people ignore it and do the right thing.

That is not what I understand God's theocracy to mean. If all we got in a theocracy was more rule dictated by men, I would decline.

No, because the Lord said, "My kingdom is not of this world."

I also have a few grey areas in my beliefs where I'm not quite sure what my answer to such political questions would be, so it would be unwise of me to sign up for a government that agrees wholeheartedly with me. So long as there are disagreements on certain issues where both sides have solid arguments in their favor and you cannot fault either, a republic is the only way to go.

I think it may have been 2003 when I first met USA Republican Party 2008 Presidential hopeful Mr. Jimothy Mason...........
I quoted him in my 2004 campaign for Municipal Councillor.........

Here is what Mr. Jimothy Mason, an American who is planning a run for the Presidency in 2008 said after reading my theories:

Ø Jimothy, what do you think, can you fit this information into yourcampaign for President of the United States??

Sir Dennis,Not only can I "fit it in" but I feel that God is telling me that I
would be wise to make this a central piece of my platform!
It's going to take me
awhile to absorb everything because, yes, thunder has struck! And I feel that you
are an invaluable resource to this group and to
me;)
Blessings,
Jimothy
“Jimothy Mason, 2008 Republican Candidate for the U.S.
Presidency”

I had introduced Mr. Mason to the historical fact that President Lincoln had saved American taxpayers FOUR BILLION DOLLARS in interest payments and yes.... he knew that he could use this in his campaign.

Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy

Melvin Sickler:
"During the Civil War (from 1861 - 1865), President Lincoln needed money to finance the War from the North. The Bankers were going to charge him 24% to 36% interest. Lincoln was horrified and went away greatly distressed, for he was a man of principle and would not think of plunging his beloved country into a debt that the country would find impossible to pay back.

Eventually President Lincoln was advised to get Congress to pass a law authorizing the printing of full legal tender Treasury notes to pay for the War effort. Lincoln recognized the great benefits of this issue.

At one point he wrote:"...(we) gave the people of this Republic the greatest blessing they have ever had - their own paper money to pay their own debts..."

The Treasury notes were printed with green ink on the back, so the people called them "Greenbacks".

Lincoln printed 400 million dollars worth of Greenbacks (the exact amount being $449,338,902), money that he delegated to be created, a debt-free and interest-free money to finance the War. It served as legal tender for all debts, public and private. He printed it, paid it to the soldiers, to the U.S. Civil Service employees, and bought supplies for war….."

Shortly after that happened, "The London Times" printed the following:"If that mischievous financial policy, which had its origin in the North American Republic, should become indurated down to a fixture, then that Government will furnish its own money without cost. It will pay off debts and be without a debt. It will have all the money necessary to carry on its commerce. It will become prosperous beyond precedent in the history of the civilized governments of the world. The brains and the wealth of all countries will go to North America. That government must be destroyed, or it will destroy every monarchy on the globe"......

After this was published in "The London Times", the British Government, which was controlled by the London and other European Bankers, moved to support the Confederate South, hoping to defeat Lincoln and the Union, and destroy this government which they said had to be destroyed…...

"In 1972, the United States Treasury Department was asked to compute the amount of interest that would have been paid if that 400 million dollars would have been borrowed at interest instead of being issued by Abraham Lincoln. They did some computations, and a few weeks later, the United States Treasury Department said the United States Government saved 4 billion dollars in interest because Lincoln had created his own money. So you can about imagine how much the Government has paid and how much we owe solely on the basis of interest."

We are now living in an age when it is possible........
for Christians in 2017..... to look back at how anti-Semitic we were......
in 1939.... when the M. S. St. Louis was turned away from Florida......
and Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada ........
and we can ARTISTICALLY wallow in our guilt.......
and the footage has the potential to become quite valuable over the coming years, decades... and yes... .even centuries.......
