Let’s talk about the Bible

Do you not realize that what is now referred to the 'golden rule' was also stated by Rabbi Hillel? Do you believe the good rabbi would quote a 'heathen law'?
and the golden rule was carved into stone centuries before the Carpenter walked

the stone was unearthed and became a part of a documentary
(years ago........can't remember which documentary)

and no one knows who carved the stone

It appears that you don't likely understand what "fulfill" probably meant in context since no one can "fulfill" the Law unless they follow it 100% and never make any mistakes. However, there's another way "fulfill" could have been used that could work. Interested?

That is not the "heathen law" as it was the basis of Judaism itself.
Maybe some did, but the Pharisees would only have a problem with blasphemy that could warrant a death penalty, plus they were not in a position to issue it anyway even if Jesus had violated that Law.

It would help if you understood early Judaism better versus drawing conclusions without having that education. Jesus worked from a Jewish paradigm and it's obvious that you have not spent time studying that, so let me recommend that you don't take yourself too seriously on this.
nay....Moses did not carve the golden rule
He wrote.....an eye for an eye.....

the law of Moses was a law of condemnation
a law to keep people in line.....by fear
it is retroactive

the golden rule is proactive......you first
Do unto others.......................

Apparently there are different forms, do and do not do. There's an interesting story about Hillel.
A non-Jew came to Rabi Hillel and asked the rabbi to teach him the whole Torah while standing on one foot.
Hillel replied, "What is hateful to you, do not do to your neighbor. This is the whole Torah; all the rest is commentary. Go and learn it." Jesus said;
"In everything, do to others as you would have them do to you."

yeah.....

hmmmm...did I make note in this thread?
Jesus was not the author of the golden rule
and Moses did not scribe of it.

Fact-- The word church did not exist when the bible was written, Thus a translating error by Catholicism. Congregation is the correct translating. Thus Jesus was telling the true followers he would be with them, not with the building. A church is a building,
As usual, you blindly believe your JW leaders rather than actually looking things up. As @pcarl correctly posted, "church" has multiple meanings that you can easily see here: the definition of church

The congregation is the flock. Jesus wasn't with the building he was with his flock.
That might be new news to you but not to anyone who actually looks things up.

It was foretold--thegreat apostasy would arise( 2Thess 2:3) or truth would never come back. The religion that came out of Rome is that great apostasy. And all of its branches.
Then, again, you must believe Jesus lied.

Also, just a reminder that your JW's cannot trace their existence back to the apostles, so it is merely just one denomination out of a great many.

The "Golden Rule" is not found word for word in any religious text but was coined as terminology dealing with a moral approach through an analysis of scripture.

Absolutely false and easily to disprove. Here are the 613 Laws as specified in Torah, and one should note that it includes both "to do's" and "not to do's": Judaism 101: A List of the 613 Mitzvot (Commandments) Also, most of the Laws do not have any penalties attached to them, so it is not fear-based.

the golden rule is proactive......you first
Do unto others.......................
Which is what the Law is about.

It's obviously a correct assumption of you since you keep on posting errors about what Judaism teaches, which I have provided for you, including a link. And I really don't care if you take me seriously or not since it seems you're so much more into yourself.

an offense first....then penalty

Then you believe Jesus lied about leading his church until the end of time. OK, if that's what you believe, so be it.

Well, kjw47 didn't deny that he believes Jesus lied about leading His "congregation" until the end of time.

Typical witness for you tho, you make a comment and they focus on the false translation of one word, rather than address the whole comment.

A question for all Christians:

When you read the word "church" in the Bible, such as the following verse,

Matthew 16:18 (ESV Strong's) 18 And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

What do you understand the word "church" to be, a building where people congregate or, a body of people?

LOL. Duh! It is the people for Jesus. Matthew 18:20
1 Corinthians 3:9

There are Jehovah's Witnesses who will not even attend a wedding in a church.

Yes, I know that, much like a JW couple across the street from us wouldn't go to a funeral mass for a neighbor next to them that they've known for over 40 years. To me, that and some other things they do and do not do, qualifies them as a "cult", especially since they put far more faith in their leaders than in Jesus or the Bible itself.

But what is most anti-Christian is their "my way or the highway" approach that claims that they somehow are the only branch that knows the "Truth", thus teaching that it's OK to judge others even though Jesus and Paul taught not to do as such.

I remember as a teenager we loved to play basketball at the YMCA. We all lived inner city, and the Y offered a safe place to play basketball.

That is, until someone in the Congregation pointed out that YMCA stood for Young Men's Christian Association and that was the end of that. The reasoning was "What if Armageddon strikes and Jehovah sees you playing in a "false" religious institution?"

The rationale made no sense to me at the time and makes none to me now, but that's all it took to forego the "Y" and we never played ball their again.

They have other Pharisaic legalisms as well. For instance, they consider themselves to be the only "true" religion (declaring themselves the entire body of Christ), have no idea why the number partaking in the memorial emblems each year goes up and down (an important indicator to them of how "close" we are to Armageddon), yet somehow can count to the exact hour (1,983,763,754) how much they spent in "field service" last year.

Nor will they join or bow their head in prayer with other Christians unless it is a Witness that leads the prayer. They believe praying with others in this manner will dirty them, thus rendering them spiritually "unclean".

As Metis points out, it is classic "cult" ideology.

Matthew is the only gospel to use the term church.

The Church is the people who make up the Body of Christ.

Revelation uses Church 7 x--it is error--The congregation is the correct translating. The congregation is the people--a church is a building.

LOL, I was expecting the personal attack would come at any time.

Is this something they taught you in Ministry school? A last desperate gambit when all else fails?

I think our discussion is over KJW. After all, I do have a tag line I'm trying to uphold.

When you can actually answer any of the questions asked let us know.:)

Light doesn't enter darkness--that is the problem.
I show you scripture and what Jesus actually teaches--you reject it all.

The word--CHURCH-- did not exist when Gods bible writers penned the words--Adding false words to fit dogma does not fly. CONGREGATION is the correct term used by the bible writers.
