Joy To The World

Joy To The World, The Lord Has Come

A popular "Christian" song.

2 Thessalonians 2:2

The Man of Lawlessness
…not to be easily disconcerted or alarmed by any spirit or message or letter presuming to be from us and alleging that the day of the Lord has already come. Let no one deceive you in anyway, for it will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness (the son of destruction) is revealed. He will oppose and exalt himself above every so-called god or object of worship. So he will seat himself in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God.…

Are we being Misled about the Kingdom of Christ. As children we are taught things like the song "Joy to the world, the Lord has come" Yet not much joy came to the world from the first coming of Christ. The promise of eternal peace happens at the second coming of Christ. At that time the song Joy to the World might be more appropriate. So are we being misled by the world that the day of the Lord, the promise of Joy and happiness has been fullfilled?

Does anyone else see a problem?

In my view yes. We find the kingdom of God within us, as our neighbor, where many think that is has to do with the world.

But couldn't people do that before Christ had come?
Before Christ, the power was not complete. It is as though a person can do only so much, but then doubt sets in and breaks the connection. Christ is for powering the connection.

I picture walking on the water, but only for a time and then falling. Matthew 14:22-33 Christ is present to prevent the fall.

Oh Joy to the world you can imagine walking on water without falling in now? I think people readily twist their thoughts to conform to the world.

Huh? LOL. It's a metaphor.

I imagine a lot of things I won't can't shouldn't ever do! Don't you?

Sometimes I imagine winning the lottery, though I don't play it. And other things.........

Well it's like your saying Christ is for powering your connection with metaphors? You can't walk on water can you?

If it is God's will for me to walk on water, I can. Christ is for powering belief.
Are you not a believer? I was sure you were. Now, I am not so sure.

It is written that no sign will be given. I strongly and irrevocably believe that it is NOT God's will for me to walk on water. Maybe, someday? LOL

It was always that way, God delivered Daniel from the Lions den before Christ had ever come. So what "Joy" came to the world from Christs first coming?

I do not know that belief, joy and so on will ever come to the WHOLE World. Do you?

@Deeje does. Because she keeps saying that soon we will all know it.
I am not making this up to troll her. I love her. She is my sister.

The Jehovah's Witnesses believe that Jehovah will make Jesus known to the whole world.
Not everyone will feel joy about it. They are being taught that only they will be joyful.

At the second coming, after the "Day of the Lord" they are anticipating in the scripture I quoted. 2 Thess 2:2...
OK. I think that when you open the door and let him in then it is YOUR day of the Lord. Revelation 3:20 What else would it be? So, maybe the writer of 2 Thessalonians 2:2 knew about the strength of a person's imagination. I can imagine him with me or he can really be with me. Which is it?

But there is no other "Day of the Lord"?

Adam was one. But now we know that he really wasn't alone as a human being from the start.
So, why did they write about just the one man?

If, like people say, there is a real Day of The Lord coming then what is written thus can't be true!
Matthew 12:39
How can the supposed day Almighty God finally reveals God's existence not be a sign?
